I mentioned this in last week's forum, but now fightnews reporting that Chisora is the leading candidate to fight Klit in December. Although green, I suppose Chisora is acceptable enough as an optional defense. The article mentions that if Chisora falls thru, Chauncy Welliver is a possibility as an opponent. If this happens, we should all agree to stop watching boxing together. Chauncy Welliver? You have got to be shittin' me! The guy is a third rate club fighter. There are 50, no 100 guy's better than him. This is an insult even to boxing, a sport which commonly markets mismatches.

Man, we need a big weekend.

Hope we get lines on the prizefighter tourney, as it seems like the best things going this weekend.

We should get Garcia vs. Arnaoutis and Ishida vs. R. Alvarez, but anything further will be a bonus.

"the bunker"
By Mark Vester

BoxingScene.com's Ronnie Nathanielsz reports that WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao is skipping out on training to rest off a possible sinus infection. Pacquiao reportedly woke up with cold-like symptoms. Trainer Freddie Roach, while not too concerned, has ordered him to rest and wants to prevent outsiders from entering the training camp. Nathanielsz says there should be some concern because Pacquiao has a habit of avoiding medicine and places his faith in natural healing.

"Pacquiao didn't train today. He is not well. Suspected sinus problem. Trouble is he depends too much on natural healing. Time for concern," Nathanielsz said.

Pacquiao is training in the Philippines for his fight with Antonio Margarito on November 13 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

can you say,"postponement"?...

this is absolutely ridiculous.
Right now, this tourney is still in the group stage and already 3 dropped out, so chances seem to be pretty good that in the finals none of the original starters will compete!

well, I prefer ko tourneys anyways, but I really hope they find a good opponent for Ward in November!

KO tourneys does't hold as much drama as super6 type and I like that fighters have second chance in super6. Having said that, I am positive that this is the first and last super6 tournamnt because of piece of shit, loudmouth todays "fighters" like dirrell. I'm starting to think that average tennis player have more balls than some of today boxers. Give me ESPN classic and fuck you Dirrell

the dude is apparently showing some neurological symptoms. it's probably not a good idea for him to continue to fight if this is indeed the truth.

regarding the dropouts, this is what happens when you run a 2 year long tournament. a 6 fighter tournament? imo they should do and have it done in 6-9 months. too many things can happen in such a long span.

A 4 man ko tourney within a year would be the best imo!
