well in fairness Hoya was a corpse and Hatton showed up in dreadful condition. it's 3 unrelated events, tonight means nothing in the context of the previous 2 bouts

but this win was an excellent one. I always thought PBF would make Cotto look silly en route to a blowout decision, Pac took it 1 step further and beat the hell out of him.

I figured Cotto to be finished, but he put up a better fight than I expected, and still got destroyed. He put up a MUCH better fight than Hatton or DLH did.

as a Marquez fan, I dont want to see the trilogy. it would be a wipeout in brutal fashion, and unfairly be used as evidence that Pac is better, when in reality Marquez was the better 130lb fighter

I hope Marquez takes the Hatton fight and counterpunches the clutz to death, but I have a feeling Arum will aim for Marquez just to notch an easy win over an aged, bloated, beaten man, to keep the Pac train rolling.

.

Well, the fight was basically over after 5 rds.
Cotto stopped thinking agressive and fought to survive from that moment.
Manny virtually had him finished in the ninth, but stopped pressing in the 10 and 11.

What blew me away a bit was Manny's ability to take a punch, he almost seems unhurtable- he's a freak. I thought the knockdown in the 4th changed the fight. Cotto got too ballsy with the toe to toe.. and got hurt.

Would be a great week for me, but Pac vs Cotto went all wrong for me. Well Pac is great fighter. Actually more like superhuman fighter.
New lines are out. I like:
Santos vs Formen over 9.5
Foremen
Chavez Jr

I'm not the least bit superstitious but no betting ever again on a fri the 13th weekend :nono:. One of the worst on the yr for me. Bet the max on melligan then the book cut my limit when I had Foreman/Santos over @ even odds. All water under the bridge. Congrats all Pac backers! I missed the fight but he IS THE MAN. Won't be surprised to see Money/Pac odds this week. Let's go Kessler!!!

Well, lost every single play on Sat., turning a good weekend south. When I look at my picks, I still like them - except for maybe Cotto, so what can you do.

Chavez UNDER - The next time Chavez fights, somebody please remind me how bad he is. The next time Dawson, tell me how good...

Santos - How were we to know that he would come in old and fat like that? That was not the same guy who beat Alcine, Margarito, etc. Santos never showed signs of slipping, then to come in like that

Andrey knew, and pegged the over as well. Good capping. Did you have any info. on Santos' condition?

It has taken me longer than most to admit Pacquiao's greatness. He is a force. I picked against him with DeLaHoya and Cotto.... Said to myself last night 'I will never pick against him again'.... But then there's Floyd????????

Well, sht... Good exciting weekend and congrats to all victors. :toast:

I did not know Santos condition. I just feel like Foreman similar to Dzinziruk but with more boxing skills and less power. Santos had problems with Dzinziruk so that is why I bet on Foreman and over.
I like Foreman boxing, Kramden think he is boring, I think he is very smart, tactical and hard working boxer. He also had some horrible hand problems and still can find a way to win fights.

Foreman, if anything, is consistent, smart and hard working. He's not going to thrill many but he is certainly not easy to beat. But for whatever reason, Santos was as ill prepared as I have ever seen any champion in his 1st title defense. I thought he looked poor at the weigh in but never thought he'd pack on a 20 pound sack of water by the opening bell. I didn't touch it but had a "gut" feeling Foreman would get his hand raised. I remember Foreman a fortnight ago struggling with aggressive Andrey Tsurkan and Tsurkan is now a shot guy, courtesy of Alfredo Angulo. I don't think Foreman can beat the best guys the division but Arum will probably milk him for a while.

:director: Free James Kirkland Free James Kirkland

I think Arum will probably bribe the warden to keep James locked up. Arum coddles all of prized cash cows...Jc Jr, Duddy, Salita etc. Foreman is a class better than those guys but put him in the same category. I think your assessment of him is spot on. Not the easiest guy to do well against but the class of 154 will certainly beat him. Kirkland would absolutely smash him and I can all but guarantee that fight will never be made.

Kirkland could have beaten Foreman and Santos at the same time last night. Seriously. He can't get out of the clink fast enough for me. He looked so strong in the Julio fight, and he can really crack, but he walked through him and made him say uncle. Can you imagine Kirkland in a prison fight? He's one guy I think the boys will leave alone. I think Kirkland beats Paul Williams and Sergio Martinez, too. Ann Wolfe got that kid in ridiculous shape. He and Angulo has to happen, and I've flipped on it but based on the Julio fight, I'd tip Kirkland.

Arum will probaly rematch Bundage, perhaps 40 year old Verno Phillips is available, or Grady Brewer or underachiever Sechew Powell. Look for these guys in Foreman's future.

Tsurkan is the pressure fighter, those kind of fighters always will give problems to types of Foreman. Angulo and Kirkland will beat Foreman. Maybe even Verno Philips will beat Foreman. Lucky for Foreman Kirkland when he get out probably will be at 160. I would never put Foreman with Kirkland and Angulo.
As for Santos, I remember for second fight with Margarito he was 170 on the fight night and he looked pretty good back then. So he always was a big guy.
By the way, what weight was yestarday on fight night for Foreman, Santos, Cotto and Pac? Is anyone knows?
