Kessler hates Ward because Ward busted his head open. Kessler has a thorn in his side, first name Andre! I'd say caveman Froch KNOWS he cannot outbox Ward. He thinks he can land a right hand and do serious damage to Ward. If a guy is looking for that one punch situation, it can be a long night for him. I still see a boring, clinch type of affair. Both guys cautious. Ward has the "healed" cut and a supposed damaged knee, both 100% as per HIM. Froch goes home licking his wounds and has a nice happy ending massage from Rachael who loves him anyway.

Azizov/DiRocco

Azizov/DiRocco

I contacted the IBO. Fight was officially rescheduled due to one of the boxers being in an "accident", according to them. Don't know who was injured or how. I have the e-mail if anyone is interested.

Thought it over, Froch is still a bum. lol Can only see him winning by knockout if Ward is a little chinny.

Anyone with any thoughts on Vanda/Rubio? Vanda rather basic but is an honest fighter who comes to fight every time. He has lost by clear decisions anytime he stepped up to a decent level fighter but 12-1+ seems a stretch. Rubio seems rather ordinary, yes some nice technique but certainly not dazzling you with athletic ability and brutal punching power. His lofty record has a lot of fluff to it, I don't know maybe I'm severely underestimating Rubio's talents.

Either Vanda is washed up and Rubio and his team know what they're doing or this could be a tough fight.

Vanda is below average. Rubio is on a run at the moment and Vanda doesn't have the power to stop him. Don't give Vanda much of a chance.

Vanda seems like a pro though, gets in there and throws and is durable. Gave Chavez Jr. a real tussle in the first fight and has been in with decent competition throughout his career.

I just don't think Rubio should be commanding this type of line against any real pro boxer. I remember watching him against Pavlik and he was useless. Got beat up for 9 rounds and then quit in the corner. Did well to get by Lemieux (although even that win looks less impressive after Alcine further exposed Lemieux) but has really feasted on bums. I don't understand why he has fought so many fighters who were truly bad.

I think its possible Vanda can out hustle him here. Well at least for 15-1 I think its possible. :0074

Well, Rubio is active, as is Vanda, but Rubio has been knocking guys out. Vanda seems like a professional top level sparing partner. He is durable and won't go quickly. I guess a shot on Vanda is one way to go.

Vanda almost always goes the distance. He may never have been stopped but I'm too lazy to boxrec it at the moment. But I expect a clear Rubio shut out, although I'd say a late stoppage looms as a possibility.

Librado looked dreadful against baby Hawk a fortnight ago. And that looks worse as Hawk was drilled by Adonis. George isn't a top talent but he can punch and is a bit explosive. Librado still tough but if he doesn't shake the molasses he may not have an easy go of it. I've heard Andrade eats 1 meal a day and I don't think he is a strong as he once was at 168, perhaps because of his primitive approach to training and nutrition.

Watched some of the Vanda's fight against Manfredo Jr. and he was dropped and hurt with a body blow in that fight. Thinking about the under rounds, if I'm off and the odds are correct perhaps he will overwhelm Vanda.

Anyways still giving him a go at 15-1, do not believe Rubio is even a B class fighter.

Reading translated stuff but it appears Rubio just weighed in over the limit at 161.5, Vanda in at 157.5.

*apparently worked it off, in at 160.

Re: Ward-Froch...

Re: Ward-Froch...

After watching more video of Froch and Ward's previous fights, most recently on Showtime, I am not convinced Ward is the "mortal lock" he is being made out to be. Khan was supposed to mop the canvas with Peterson, but it did'nt happen, albeit controversial. I liked Peterson somewhat but allowed myself to get talked out of it and bought into the bullshit hype. I think Froch had a tougher fight versus "pop" Johnson than Ward did versus Abraham. I also do not think the line is justified and if anything Ward should be a much smaller favorite, if not a pick-em. Therefore, I see an overlay and will have to go with the man from Nottingham.

Slightly baffled with the belief in Froch, I guess at 3-1 its not a bad bet but suggesting this fight is closer to a pk'em is off imo. Am I the only one who sees Froch for what he is? An average boxer with slightly above average power and nowhere near enough hand/foot speed to compete at the top level. Against Dirrell he was looking awful as he could not cut off the ring to save his life.

Interesting to see Ward's trainer Virgil Hunter very confidently predicting his man will stop Froch. Don't know his history to well but doesn't seem like the type of guy to predict nonsense just to hear himself talk. The way he set it up he obviously thinks Ward can stop Froch with body blows. Kessler did damage to Froch in this manner and perhaps that is their target.

Making a mid sized wager on the stoppage victory for Ward here.

Any thoughts on the Fortuna/Roman fight tonight? Plenty of video Fortuna and Roman on youtube. Fortuna looks pretty good, fast hands and feet, a nice boxer/puncher type. Open for counters though and against Wilson was getting caught flush several times. Roman a plodder type who just walks forward, leans in and slings lefts and rights.

Seems like a nice test for Fortuna, Roman has been very durable and throws to hurt. Fortuna should be able to find Roman very easily but may want to avoid slugging as he is vulnerable in exchanges.

Looks like a not so easy decision from my point of view... I think the under and the dog offer some value and maybe I will spend a small amount, but no big investment here...
