Crasy weekend for me... had a lot of bets and came out more or less at even... Some under plays on Cleverly and some clear champs had been the negatives ones, but Kahn saved my weekend... regarding Draws I had a lot of them but only one came through (the one that I invested the least...)... overall I am happy with the outcome and as the same as for the last few weekends, I was so close to get a real big win in by Draws, especially on the Kahn fight... I have to watch it, but as it was so close it would have been my largest win EVER if the fight would have ended in a draw. (I got it on avg. at +12500 ...)

I hope you guys had a ok or even good weekend too.

Cheers

imo, maidana needs to lose that trunks-tugging habit...ridiculous.....it` really hurts him,imo...screws up his flow...

Absolutely, it was ridiculous how much Maidana was doing that, and it was hurting him. Khan was so fast, and picked up on it. Every time Maidana began yanking on his trunks Khan would fire off a combination and send Maidana reeling.

one of the best fights on the yr. Props to Khan for fighting his way through adversity late in the fight and holding the freight train off. Maidana made it close but Khan clearly deserved the nod. Great fight!!!! Maidana/Mathysse Anybody??? Some great action fights to be had @140 in 2011!

Maidana-Matthysse is a very good call! That would be huge in Argentina.

All right, again just a tremendous night of fights!

Also, I thought the judging was largely accurate, which deserves a lot of props! We have almost come to expect bad and controversial judging, but last night was very solid, and that's great to see.

Khan-Maidana: Fantastic! Just the dynamic we thought would unfold. Khan boxing vs. Maidana's brutal attack. I think Khan has redeemed himself, and I will not talk about his chin anymore. He withstood a brutal assault, and did not fold! Well-deserved close decision for him!

Ortiz-Peterson: I scored this 95-93 for Ortiz, which is 5 rounds apiece minus the knockdowns. I think this fight was very close guys. 2 point win for Pet on one card seemed off though. Do you realize that if that second slip knockdown, when Pet's glove touched, he would've won! Thing is, when Ortiz tried to box, and he did that for many rounds, he was getting outboxed. When he came forward and used his strength he did well. I thought Pet found the range and was coming on very well late. I usually respect Lederman's scoring, but he was WAY off in this fight, giving two rounds 6 and 9 I think, to Ortiz when Pet clearly won them.

Mares-Darchinyan: The right guy won, and I'm happy Mares didn't get screwed by that ridiculous point deduction.

Also a great performance by Agbeko!

well said...not even a stern warning for holding....and there was plenty...

it was close...i believe that maidana was either tired or gave away the 8th...and didn`t do much better in the 9th...those 2 were crucial to him given the point that cortez took......

every time maidana got khan on the ropes or was punching with a free hand,,cortez was on him like a cheap suit....

and the two hand pushing off?....not a peep...

i give khan credit for holding on at the end...but cortez was in there to help him...

lesson to be learned,.....beware of cortez reffing goldenboy fights with a home team interest...

all that said,an excellent fight....i give khan big ups for fighting a big fight on neutral(sort of) turf...

and imo, maidana needs to lose that trunks-tugging habit...ridiculous.....it` really hurts him,imo...screws up his flow...

again,congrats khan backers...:0008

Agreed 100%. Madaina seemed to have to take off certain rounds before coming on harder in the next. His stamina cost him for sure. His trunk pulling was annoying. Khan did a good job surviving but Cortez stunk badly.

I bet on Khan but I agree with you
It seemed like he was trying to give Khan separation the last few rounds

The boxing refs in general today were piss poor

Some clown in Liverpool awarded Bellew a TKO over McKenzie without a punch landing

and the ref in Seattle for the Abner-Darchinyan fight needs a new career - that guy was the worst !

The most puzzling thing, to me, out of all the bouts though was the Ortiz decision
I thought he CLEARLY won more rounds than Peterson, and then add the fact that he scored two knockdowns.
I can't believe that fight was a draw - bizarre scorecards (the third judge even had Peterson ahead !)

The Peterson decision sucked and was puzzling. I only had HBO where I was at last night though so I still have to see the Mares fight. I did hear from others that the ref sucked there to.

Dhafir Smith W12 Jeff Lacy!!!

Clear points win. I thought it was a stretch, but was hoping for odds here. I would've been on Smith by upset. Lacy is just plain shot. Smith is a crafty boxer type, and stupid comeback selection for Lacy, who is prone to being outboxed. Smart matchmakers would've put someone chinny in front of him. Lacy has got to get out.

Also:

Cristian Mijares W12 JA Rosas

Sounds like it was a good solid performance from Mijares, and a nice comeback win for him. He's been looking diminished lately, and Rosas was coming in prime.
