For the record, I answered n.j.'s question about books and websites in the other thread. Don't want anyone to think I was ignoring him

I took the big guy for -280. I don't see a flabby version of Lyak beating him. I have to think that Lyak would need to be light and mobile and fighting much the way chagaev did w/effective in and out movement. At 251 I believe he'll be too stationary and he'll lie in the pocket too long. He's also coming off a stoppage loss to BRIGGS and better than a yr layoff. I liked the over on this one until the weigh in. I can see an accumulation stoppage for Valuev. I didn't bet the farm. I missed the alvarado time. I'm in vegas for the big fight and I thought I had til 6 last night to place the wager. Congrats to those that did.

LOOKING FORWARD TO TO THE BIG FIGHT! The MGM fcked up my room reservation and sent me to another hotel...fckers. The tab is on them but I'd still rather be over there where all the action is. I'm considering the under on Pav/JT but will wait to see how the big guy pans out in Germany. Good luck to everybody!

That is the oldest trick in the books Romi. They bumped your ass for someone else. I would have screamed to the heavens and got every available comp i could get my hands on. Still gonnaa be a blast im sure. Any more problems just tell them you know sponge from Madjacks.

"the bunker"
i can see the spinks/phillips over.....that looks like the most likely scenario out of any in the fight...a solid prop...particularly in a parlay...

spinks will "probably" slick his way to a win in his hometown...he won`t stop phillips..unless philips just hits the wall.....i`m pretty sure about that...

phillips has always scared me...4 of his losses occurred in or before 1990...2 others were to middleweights...and 3 of the others were to ouma twice and quartey(pressure fighters)...and i think his stamina issues were in fights in which he had to fight all 10 or 12 vs guys that gave him little rest(ouma/quartey)...

as far as inactivity, there isn`t all that much distance between both fighters...10 months and around 13 months,i believe...

can see the parlay thing, but i,personally, wouldn`t lay -550 straight...

for spongy...this doesn`t mean i`m predicting phillips will crush spinks...i`m predicting a spinks decision(which might be worth a play if it`s reasonable)....i just think that phillips is a strange bird and has fought some guys very tough in their own hometowns.. and he throws wild shots with sneaky power...

yes,i`m very cautious...

I'm well aware that they overbooked. The fckers wouldn't budge. I got 2 nights at the monte carlo for free, meal comps and an upgrade to a suite next time in town. I'm still pissed but not much I could do. The hotel doesnt even compare to the MGM. The titties over there are big and perky and the ones here just sag :(

When I saw that Navarro by decision was close to +1000 I just couldnt resist.

Anyways, great week!!

I went 2-1 on the week to end the 2 week skid...made a couple hund net but pissed it away at the blackjack tables. Had a good time in vegas though.

Montiel looked very impressive in easily dispatching castillo. I was looking forward to an evenly fought fight over the course and castillo was never in it.

I for one thought pav controlled the action. I had him winning by a wide margin. JT looked very good in spurts but he couldn't sustain the action and he just didnt do enough to win the rds IMO. I thought pav cleanly won 8 of 12.

It was a competitive fight, and Navarro outworked/outhustled the champ, but his punches had absolutely nothing on them. Mijares landed the cleaner/harder punches throughout. I think anything between 117-111 and 115-113 would be a decent score. The judge who scored it 120-108 Navarro should have his license pulled
