From Steve Kim's column today:

The "Least Interesting Fighter in the World" starring Adrien Broner. The familiar voice over from the Dos Equis commercial comes on with clips of Broner?s fight with Ponce de Leon:

"...He once threw forty punches in a round, just to see what it would feel like.

"...He was listed on the FDA?s website as a generic form of Ambien.

"...He doesn?t fight much, but when he gets into exchanges, he doesn?t fight much.

"...He is The Least Interesting Fighter in the World.

"I don?t always throw punches, but when I do, I throw them one at a time.

"Stay frustrated, my friends!"

Anybody else think the odds on Mayo are just a tad skewed? +800 on a guy that bangs pretty well, has a solid chin and is as tough as nails seems a bit generous to me. Wasn't too long ago that most thought Cotto's days were well behind him. He looked like a million bucks v the light hitting Foreman but just maybe, Foreman was tailored made for him. Cotto needs to fight a technically solid fight here and not make any mistakes. I wouldn't say this one is a foregone conclusion by any stretch. I give Mayo a pretty decent puncher's shot at this.

I think so. At the end of the day, I think Cotto will win the fight, but I'm surprised odds are so wide.

don't see the chain of events leading to cotto-margarito 2 breaking

think mayorga can get to championship rounds or the full distance, cotto not same type of wrecking machine like in quintana fight

he's not going to unload the same volume of heavy bag exercise that trinidad did to mayorga to make him wilt

....

....

McGirt often times tries to make guys something they aren't. In Dzin he doesn't have to worry about telling him to jab like he does so often, that's what Dzin does anyways.

I was today in Planet Hollywood sport book and ask them about odds on Fields vs Grant. Turns out they didn't even know that this fight will be and they were surprised that they have boxing tomorrow in their own casino.

Disgusting. They are hosting the damn event. This is how boxing is now treated in Vegas. An afterthought, if a thought at all.

holy shit quake + tsunami in japan

I was watching the newscast live when the tsunami hit. Unreal footage of of mud, debris wave sweeping across the land, swallowing cars, buildings, and people up - watching people die right there.

Just horrific.
