gl bl

Damn, didn't see -155. I added more on 5dimes w/peter wins only -356. That's it for me.

I'm going to miss the live action tonight. It's poker night and I can't get out. I'll catch the recorded version later tonight. Good luck everybody!

Ronnie Shields injured!

Ronnie Shields, trainer for lightweight champ Juan Diaz, slipped in the lobby of his hotel and fractured his right foot. He will work Diaz?s corner this evening against Nate Campbell - seated in a wheelchair. Shields? injury is the latest incident in a string of tribulations leading up to tonight?s fight in Cancun Mexico, most notably the ongoing dispute between Diaz?s manager Willie Savannah and Don King. At yesterday?s weigh-in, King positioned several placards in front of the stage with messages that took shots at Diaz and Savannah. Regarding all the pre-fight drama, Shields told the Houston Chronicle: ?There?s plenty happening around here. But Juan is looking good. He?s in great shape. He?s ready to go.?

--------------------------------------------------------------------

King dumps Juan Diaz!

Promoter Don King made a surprise announcement on Wednesday that he will no longer represent undefeated unified lightweight world champion Juan "Baby Bull" Diaz after his match on Saturday with Nate "Galaxxy Warrior" Campbell in Cancun, Mexico. King has represented Diaz since September 2006, and it is highly unusual for him to give up on a star client without an attempt to keep him in his stable of fighters. King made the announcement at the final press conference for the event, named "History in Cancun."

King then announced his resignation.

"I bring this up to you today because, like Fred Levin, I have made a decision to no longer promote Juan Diaz after Saturday's fight. And it's not because I wouldn't like to continue to work with Juan. It's for the same reason the esteemed Fred Levin quit. I will no longer work with Juan's manager Willie Savannah."

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Needless to say, I'm a little worried about my Diaz parlay. Campbell is a DK fighter, so there's plenty to be concerned about here. My play on Diaz was partly based on the DK promotion and location of the fight. Now the DK factor is working against me, and I never bet against the juice...esp DK. A small hedge on Campbell +400 is a must given the situation

My parlay with Diaz is risking 1.35 to win 1.0

Hedge 25% of profits....Campbell +400...lay .25 to win 1.0

Box im so tempted to take this Campbell character because of your post. I wish i was up for the week and i would do it and im glad i read this because i was gonna bet Diaz. This is way way to risky now and i think you made the right move getting rid of some of this wager. this goes the distance who knows what those scores will be. Diaz better hope he gets this guy out of there and not leave it to the judges.

Aren't you guys worried that the Ruiz fight might end early because McCline pulls his shoulder out from Ruiz hanging on it? Ruiz has some talent too. Shame he resorts to these tactics

Yuck on McCline. Lost 20, made much more on the over.

Im buying back Peter KO and most of the Diaz bet, the weekend has been great, I'm cashing out. Tiny bets on Maskaev and Peter KO 1-3 left, I expect to lose both. ah well.

Thanks for posting and good luck guys, its been a great weekend.

whoa...haye whacked macca.....

can`t wait to see it...

any word on ruiz/mccline?

Haye looked sharp the stoppage was alittle bit unlucky because Macca was in a corner and at the ropes didnt go down and Haye unloaded on a traped Macca. Got a little back with Haye inside 1 to 3. but lost money on that one.

Now i need Campell and not the distance and Maskaev.

Good luck

The promised "new" John Ruiz (43-7-1, 29 KOs) seems exactly like the old one. "The Quiet Man" tediously grappled his way to a unanimous decision win over equally disappointing Jameel McCline (39-9-3, 23 KOs). Scores were 117-111, 118-110, and 119-109 in a bout that left the fans in Cancun to entertain themselves by mocking the fighters with chants, catcalls, and whistles normally reserved for the ring card girls.

Diaz' left eye is opened up in a very bad spot, could stop the fight eventually. Ref called it a butt, but it looks like a punch did the damage

All I know...glad I hedged out of this mess

The big dog was Munroe over Martinez yesterday

My play on Campbell was a hedge to a parlay I made before all the anti-Diaz information came out

Either way it ended up being a great play as it saved me 1.2 units allowing me to keep all the profits from the +390 winner yesterday
