why the love for bruseles?......tackie`s a difficult out......you`re gonna sweat the whole 10....

tackie`s been fighting top notch welters for awhile...and bruseles is basically a jr welter...he`s fought outside puerto rico twice in his last 11 and lost both(granted, one was vs floyd,jr)...

he`s been on the canvas vs mediocre opposition a few times to boot...

he may well beat tackie, but personally,i wouldn`t lay the wood with any confidence...

Always do...lol...but at -180 I'm not laying much wood here

Tackie has been fighting welters, but top notch is a bit of a stretch, and he's been losing to these guys. Bruseles last fight was at 147, but he's back down to 140 where he belongs, and so is Tackie who weighed 143 in his last fight and 142 for this one

My logic in backing Brusles is posted in the Parlay Options thread, MF thinks Karass would make a better parlay option, still thinking about that one but I'm not sold on Karass

My play's are

Santana beats Lopez tonight. Santana has some skill. I think the odds are too wide.

Sebastian Sylvester to beat Javier Castillejo. I think Sylvester has the style to beat Javier IF he does not get caught.

Tarver to beat Woods. I think Tarver is shit BUT skilled enough to make this fight close and win a home town decision.

I have a very substantial amount in 4 parlay's that need Dawson and Calz to win. I think both these guys are too fast and fit for their older opponents.

IF Sylvester wins, I will put some money on Gomez to beat Cotto. I don't think Gomez will win but he is tough and has some speed. You never know, it just takes one punch to open a cut and +800 is worth a shot.

Good luck all.

fair enough..i expect it to be an interesting fight....you don`t consider holt/gomez/lazcano and even freddy hernandez good fighters?....granted,some are jr welters, but, that`s solid competition,imo...at least 3 of the 4 beat bruseles like he owed them money...

i wish you luck...i`ll be rooting for `enery...;)

weepaul...nice post...i like alot of what you`re saying with the first 2 dogs listed and tarver...(gonna take bhop at those odds, but, joe seems to be the consensus pick).......

g.l.,guys...

I think Tackie has a shot here, he's been competetive with better fighters than Bruseles.

He's also the bigger man and was fairly acitve lately...

@nearly +300 thats worth a shot for me

BTW, Evan is also on Tarver and under 9.5 (McGirt deLeon)

I am adding Tackie to beat Brusels. Tackie is the scariest type of fighter, one who smiles at you when you hit him with your best shot.

Tackie might just break Brusels will.

Holt is a great fighter...at 140, Lazcano was a great fighter...at 135 and 140. I was talking about the welterweights...Gomez,Hernandez,Negron,Herrera... and no I don't think any of them are "top notch". Gomez and Hernandez are good fighters, but not great fighters, both are much bigger than Bruseles, Tackie at 140 is not much bigger. Negron lost twice to Bruseles and Herrera would do the same. I just think Bruseles is the much better boxer and he has the promotional advantage behind him, as long as he doesn't get caught he should outbox the older Tackie over 10 rounds, if this were a 12 rounder I'd probably leave it alone.

If you have some boxing skills he's not that scary. You hit him and get out of the way. He's slow as hell and has lost a lot of snap on his punches. The few times he hit Holt he didn't even hurt him. Tackie will go in and try hard but the truth is he is pretty much a shot fighter. Maybe he can outwork bruseles? If bruseles fights a half intelligent fight though I think he wins.

Agreed 100%. I don't have a bundle on it but bruseles isn't a bad fighter. He fought very well against a GREAT Floyd. He didn't show a bad chin. Floyd was simply on his A+ game. Bruseles by dec IMO.

I agree with a lot of what you are saying but sometimes will beats skill and I think Tackie might just take Brusels heart.

I wish this was a 12 rounder.

Good Luck all.

Machado at plus 1050 over Dunne.
Who in the world makes these odds ?
I take it. Yes Machado is old and he is fighting at a higher weight but Dunne is pretty horrible.

Mcgirt inside at 254.

thinking about Tackie inside too

AGREED!!! That Machado number jumped right out. Dunne has china for a chin.

I have heard he has been knocked out a couple of times by his sparring partners.

lets not get into a bruseles vs tackie shinkick here...

remember...bruseles is a PROHIBITIVE fave in this bout(better than 3-1)......this ain`t no pick`em...

just saying that for a guy that`s been on the floor vs some questionable competition.....in his hometown..... i think that`s a tad steep considering this ain`t puerto rico....

g.l. with the bruseles wagers...i just don`t have the coulumes...

Bruseles by spl dec...then again , better to be lucky than good at times. I don't have the details but some guys doing RBR gave it to Tackie. apparently it was close. I added a late wager to this and was a little nervous reading the rbrs. The Tackie backers were playing the value and nearly won.

Early Results from New Jersey!
"Super lightweight Henry Bruseles (27-3-1, 15 KOs) won a ten round split decision over hard charging former contender Ben Tackie (29-10-1, 17 KOs). Scores were 96-94 for Tackie, 96-94 and 'a ridiculous' 98-92 for Bruseles."

OUCH

the recommended play was under on the Mcgirt fight, could've gotten it +190. didn't pay much attention, placed a late and lazy Mcgirt inside +230.

0-3 on the night. Cmon Gomez +950 :142smilie
