Seems fight is at Mandalay Bay in Vegas now. They do have a line posted; Williams-175/+150 back on Wright. I basically hammered the poop out of the -175. Wright has been off going on a duece. Williams has age, reach, height in his favor. Wright has seen the better opposition as we well know. So a buddy says why is Wright taking the fight? Anyone ever hear of bills that have to be paid? I had this lined at at least a buck more for the chalk here. I don't envision Wright getting into a firefight with Williams. He will do his peek-a-boo stuff all nite as Williams fires long range shots to cruise to a points win. Hope I am reading this one correctly as I sent it in big-time.

I don't know Frankie. I'm as big a fan of Williams as they get and I've bet a boatload on him in several fights. I lost 4k on him against Quintana I. I've still won much more on the guy than I lost but Winky isn't a guy I like to bet against. He's getting up there in age but he's one of the craftiest fighters of this era. He whipped Shane, he shut out Tito, he arguably beat JT and he gave a bigger Hop a pretty good go. PW is an offensive machine that throws punches in bunches but the guy is no defensive wizard. He eats a lot of punches. One of these days his chin is going to fail him. I tip him slightly, to beat an aging Winky but no bet for me. I think this is more of a pic em. Good luck.

Solid play.
The Williams points win should be good too.

Thanx for the comments Romi. I agree Wright has sen it all. I just don't see he has gotten any better since his last outing. Williams on the other hand is still getting better and I just think his motivation is 100%. I realize it seems the era of the grandpa's beating up the kids lately. As I said; age-height-reach. We'll see! Crow; hope you are on the money, cause if you are, so am I!!!!!!

BUMP

Vegas odds at Mandalay apparently opened Williams-140. I bet into it at -175, sorry to say. It's around -180, give or take. Rumors are flying around town about the Winskter hitting the clubs and using the same trainer Dawson used that was not to his advantage. I am trying to find out how many rounds Winky has been sparring. There is a litle birdie chirping once in a while. Probably said more than I should but I want to see you guys have a juicy payday, if it's setting up as such.

Winky is one of the best fighters in the last 8 yrs. He's been ripped off by the boxing bosses (judges included) just because he aint exciting enough.

Im a huge Winky fan but I have to agree that Williams with his huge height/reach advantage should easily finish the fight or easily get a decision. I think Winky is very pissed off at the boxing world- and he had every right. But he aint goin to knock out Paul and zero chance at a decision with his punch output.

Im poundin Paul- hope he enjoys it

question for "detective" Ghost

question for "detective" Ghost

Allright Ghost. You seem to have the most honed investigative skill set, so I ask; can you find out EXACTLY what the supposed "catch" weight is for Wright-Williams? I'm going to say somewhere in the vicinity of 158-162. More likely 162-3 as I don't think Winky-boy is liking anything less. It's apparently not for any titles, and I really don't know just what the hell it is for anyways??? If anyone else digs up any info that would be great also.

Thanks guys. Glad it's not any more than that. At a higher weight I feel it would be a distinct advantage for Wright.

Frank s and Sponge. As a huge fan of Winkys right from the start I cant understand you guys thinking he has any chance. Huge reach difference. Winky is slow and methodical. Paul is fast and in prime shape.

Dont get me wrong- I really want Winky to win this and I hope you are right (except for the $2000 I have on Paul). I would love to see Winky get the respect he has always deserved. I dont know, we'll see.

Is Scott/Atlanta bisexual. He acts kind of gay but not fully gay.

Just today the "little birdie" reports Winky is sparring with Chad Dawson and is moving Dawson all around the ring. If you look at Wright's resume it is loaded with top flite talent. Williams dosier isn't even in the same league. Wright has seen it all. I made a very impulsive move at sent it in on Williams as he is on the way up, supposedly, and Wright has had a long layoff. I ain't sure what kind of pop Williams will have at 160lbs. Wright might be able to block his stuff all nite with impunity. With the age/height/reach/activity factors all in Williams favor, I saw him as the right side. Winky's vast background might just negate it all. Buyers remorse perhaps on my part, or just jumped in too quickly. I still am holding a large ticket on Williams so I will continue to monitor as closely as possible.

when i first heard about this fight, i was like Williams all the way, i'm sure a lot of others too, cuz of Paul's volume and youth

but the OLDER GENERATION has been barking answering loud and clear

hopkins, mosley, marquez..

is winky next to step it up?

i'm sure he's been chewing at the bit to prove himself again

True that thong. However, last old guy to fight, Barrera, got mugged. Maybe the Viagra crew is going to sustain some punishment. Still no off-shore lines on this one. Please inform if you do see any.

wILLIAMS WILL DO WHAT EVEN BETTER FIGHTERS HAVE DONE WITH wINKY AND THAT IS NOT PUT A SCRATCH ON HIM.. Opps sorry about the caps. Winky is sparring with Dawson? Makes me think he is serious. I haven't seen anyone beat Winky yet but Hopkins and it wasn't a blowout if i can recall. Im not a big fan of Williams high volume of punches. Most are useless unless u are someone like Margarito who gets hit by everyone. Just my opinion of course. Not sure about Scotty. You might be on to something there.;)

Any online odds? Pinnacle opened Williams -180/Winky +170, I grabbed Winky. Kudos to them for opening before others.

I like Williams on points, at this weight he should have great stamina to win on volume alone. I see Williams throwing more and keeping Wright defensive to win 7 rounds, while Wright takes 5 rounds based on cleaner punching. Basically Williams wins early as Wright feels him out, then Wright has a surge from rds 5-9 or so of timing Williams and landing the better punches, then Williams makes adjustments and has his own late surge to win the remaining rounds on reach and movement.

Each guy has their own rhythm, like in Margarito-Williams, and like in Margarito-Williams, I think Williams wins the early rounds based on volume, then they trade surges, and Williams wins a close one.

Because it will be so close, my play is Winky +170, and I also like the draw and the over.

On any Harold Lederman prop, pound the shit out of Williams. Lederman ALWAYS favours the aggressor now matter how ineffective their punches are, basically whoever throws more wins for him, and that will surely be Williams.
