Guzman's hasn't stopped anyone in 7 fights, thats right SEVEN, and 9 of his last 13 have gone the distance

Guzman recently fought at 122, Arthur has fought at 130 his entire career, he's 2 years younger than Guzman

Arthur has only been stopped once, 5 years ago, by a legit 130 lb'er who hits much, much harder than Guzman

Guzman's hands rarely last longer than a few rounds before busting up, with Arthur being the much bigger guy here it will take alot of big shots to keep him down. Guzman's hands are much weaker than Arthur's chin, how long will they hold up?

Never said Arthur would win the fight, just think he won't get stopped in his backyard by a smaller guy who can't punch

And I'm getting +140...lol...very nice odds

gl bl

OK Box, I tried.

I have witnessed Arthur wobbled, decked and cut up by guys who are not in Guzmans class.

You guys keep betting the over on this fight, it will only make it so much more money for me when I clean up on the under.
This is another gift from the Gods.

One of us shall make out like a bandit, so, we shall see.

Good luck.

Witherspoon under 9.5, -111
Witherspoon under 9.5, -141

Pinnacle canceled this play, claiming it was an erroneous line.

It opened at +110 or so, and was adjusted to -220 before being taken off.

Sounds like somebody make a poor line, rather than incorrect input. If they knew the line was wrong, it would have been taken down immediately, not adjusted several times.

Pricks.

Edit - to add salt to the wound, the notice came minutes before the fight started. After I got it, I was unable to buy back the other side of the scalp, so Im stuck with two bets I wouldn't have played as large otherwise.

Thanks Romi for the Quillan pick. Now I can ride out my parlay partner or buy some back easily. Good job!

Do I have a mouse in my pocket?

I think I'm the only one betting the Over...

gl on that Under, Guzman hasn't stopped anyone in 4 years and 7 fights, not sure how you could lay 2-1 odds against that

Lets just say I have a special place in my heart for Brits who usually fight at a domestic level, stepping up in class at a world level.

We shall see what happens on fight night LOL.

Good luck.

I netted 220 on the quillan fight. Like I said I loaded up on the under which was a steal @+135. I put 2 bucks on the over +160 to cover myself a little bit. Apparently the ref allowed Echols to absorb an unneccessary beating over the course. Had the ref done his job and stopped the fight, it would have been a 1400 night. The over hedge saved my ass from losing a little bit. After 3 close ones last week, I can't really complain. Hope everybody made a little bit on this one.

same story here except i didnt hedge nada. 500 down. The ref could have stopped it in the 9 but quillian did a poor job of finishing everytime he hurt echols he closed in and tied him up.

Dito!
I played over 8.5 at +170 (bodog) and under 9.5 at +150 - -120 (pinnacle).

When I wanted to check my wagers, I saw that they were voided.
Thats the first time that pinnacle has done that.
I'm frankly a little concerned, the line itself wasnt errenous, but some idiot made it over 9.5 instead of 6.5.

Unfortunately I noticed and found another hedge opportunity.

I think somebody mentionned this earlier. Is it possible that pinnacle is not overly successfull with their boxing bets!?
Low limits...and they void bets now...

.....

.....

The pinnacle line was incorrectly put into the system. The lines there move automated so that's why it wasn't caught very fast.

Ah.

How are the lines input? does a human erroneously type in 9.5, or is it programmed to automatically put 6.5, but glitched?

Are there not humans to watch line adjustments? I mean if some moron plays the opening line poorly (as I have), does the system still adjust it to get action on the other side, or does a human realize the bettor made a bad bet, and keep the line the same?

There I go ASS-U-ME'ing again.

unfortunately? ;)

Hedging your overs was the right thing to do, I definitely would have if it was still on the board.

Not sure about all of it. I do know the lines are put in by a human and are mostly adjusted by automation. Whoever put the line into the system did so wrong.

gw...I have mentioned sportsbook/sportsbetting to you several times in this forum, not only about opening Joey's weekly lines first, but the fact that they allow boxing parlays and often have lower numbers on the favorites

You're killin' yourself...

I'm wondering if the line for Diaconu Herny isnt a bit wide.

I just read at fightwriter, that Henry used to box at heaveyweight as an amateur, whereas Diaconu has fought as a middleweight.
interesting sidenote.

Diaconu is probably not such a hard puncher as many people believe, Henry, from what I have seen doensnt look like such a good boxer... :/

Apparently, Hernry has had a good training camp.

Diaconu is the homefighter..

Ewan is on Hopkins btw...
I personally would hedge a straight bet on Calzahge, even though I give him the edge to win a decision...

Dont see a ko there...

NightJ,
At books, lines are input manually.
Adjustments are made manually.
Results are put in manually.
Verification is done manually.
With all that, there is room for human error. It seems easy, you think, "how hard can it be to put in a line and post a result for a fight or game?" but the process is usually being done for a large number of events, and so, mistakes are made. If the proper system is in place independent verification is done to reduce the errors. I always used a second set of eyes in case I missed something.
By the description in this thread it seems that this wasn't a data entry error, but a realization that they screwed up and opened with a bad # and decided to weasel (no offense GW) out.

Thanks for looking into it and posting Sonny.

They've been a great book to me throughout with good customer service, so it's no big deal. Though perhaps a deadline for cancellation of 1hr prior to the fight would be fair, giving scalpers some time to buy back the other side.

And btw, Im on Hop. I liked the source's write-up and I like the intangibles here. Hopkins' legacy is on the line here, he wouldn't have taken this fight if he didn't think he could win. He's made plenty of money already and could have had a huge payday and easier fight against Roy Jones, but chose this fight after seemingly long contemplation. Anything over +230 Im on it, 1 for 2.3.

While this should go the distance, I don't want to discount the possibility of Hopkins' head causing a terrible cut and stopping the fight early, so no decision props for me.

edit - i just read through the Zag/Hop thread and it's been covered, you noted some more intangibles. Tough fight to call.
