I see boxrec no longer listing Tyson Fury-John Mcdermott rematch. Off the schedule as it looks now.

Current odds to win SUPER SIX. I don't really do these long (really long) term bets. But interesting none the less.

Mikkel Kessler +650
Arthur Abraham +500
Carl Froch +750
Andre Ward -160
Andre Dirrell +500
Allan Green +3000

Before the Tourney began I put down 2 bets on the Andre's to win it all.

I got-

Ward at +1000

Dirrell at +1400.

I couldn't believe how badly these Young Gun's were being written off.
I only wish I had bet more!!!

This fight might actually out-do the main event for fight of the night, if that's possible :00hour

Actually, I'm not keen on seeing another episode of Marquez vs. Vazquez.
IMO both should retire!

yeah, what is this their 4th freaking fight? Dudes killed each other. I picked right on their first two but missed the 3rd. This will require a thorough review.

Marquez the better technician but Vasquez is abit stronger. They've been off a while now. Strange to have the fight now but they needed time to heal and they make the best paydays against each other so here we go again.

how sharp can these guys be?...1 fight each since....vasquez` opponent was a smaller guy...a bit of a can(if boxrec is correct)and the scores were even through 8 on 2 cards......

regardless, these are two fights that are worthy of a ppv spot...real tough pickins....

You said exactly what I was going to post earlier. There is no need for this 4th fight IMO other than to see 2 guys needlessly beat on each other again. Thx for the 3 thrillers and 2 HOF careers!... Now PLEASE retire.

hopefully they get compensated generously...probably about money for both...and theres always the revenge motive for marquez...if memory serves me,the rubber match was decided in the 12th....doesn`t get much closer than that...

i hope they both finish in good health...

60 Day Rule Reconsidered

60 Day Rule Reconsidered

Quanah
check this out bro.
I just received this AWESOME email from one of my books this morning.

"Thank you for playing with **************

This is in regard to your bet Id - 7**********

As per the update from the grading department, we would like to inform you that the wagers on the fight between Sam Sexton vs Danny Williams from Saturday, May 15th, 2010 has been cancelled. Sam Sexton withdrew from Danny Williams title fight and was replaced by Derek Chisora, therefore all wagers for this event have been graded as No Action and the money will be refunded to the customers account according to our rules. "

:00hour :00hour :00hour :00hour :00hour

This is extremely significant because this is a book that previously followed the 60 DAY RULE. I had placed wagers a few months ago on Sexton. Since Chisora was the replacement, they have returned the MONEY ! This is so great.

I don't know what other books will do. I can't speak for everyone. But in the past this play would have been held for 60 days. I am THRILLED to see that someone is actually looking at this sensibly on the other side of the counter.

If the fight is rescheduled - no problem. Hold it for 60 days. But if the fight is NEVER going to happen (Danny Williams is retiring), a bet refund is the correct decision. Holding the money for 60 days wouldn't make sense.

I still have my Brinkley-Bika bets being held up, but maybe a decision for that one will be made closer to what WAS the scheduled date (May 28th).

Anyways. PROGRESS and THANK YOU sportsbooks !

They also cleared the Quezada-Gavern wager! I think once they saw that Gavern was scheduled elsewhere. This is good news, and a pretty sensible way to handle this matter I think. Hold the wager, but once it is obvious (schedule, retire) that the fight will not happen, a NO ACTION grade seems appropriate.

I have to also agree with the sentiment of Vasquez-Marquez IV. I mean, no one is clamouring for another fight between these guys, and where is the winner even left? Except with a few more bumps and bruises...

i might have said the same thing before....matter of fact i think i did after the last fight....but they`ve had over 2 years to recuperate...

you have to admit,it`s a helluva lot more appealing than hopkins/jones...

even given the layoff,it will almost assuredly be another epic battle while it lasts...

they`re grown-ups...i`m glad they`ll be making some money...and my take of their fights is different than most...

i`ve always been a huge marquez fan...i remember one of my biggest internet paydays was when marquez beat tim austiin to win the belt...

i`m admittedly biased, but to this day,i think marquez is the better fighter(strictly from a technical perspective)...i just think that like many fighters,he went up one weight class too many.....similar to arguello and pryor...even the greatest hit the wall...

not taking a thing away from vasquez, who has more heart and more amazing recuperative power than pretty much anybody i can think of...and the much better chin...

there is risk involved, no doubt...i understand why folks are hesitant and their rationale is well intended...but,they`re gonna do it...i know i`m gonna watch...and i`ll be praying that both come out just fine....

Could not agree more.

The problem is, they have both deteriorated just enough that they might half kill each other such as Frazier and Ali in their third fight. :(

I wish they would get out and leave the slugfests to guys like Perez and Mares.
