They obviously had a typo because its almost the exact opposite now. Did you wear a ski mask when you held these guys up?

Nope...just played the lines they gave me

Just like I played Kyowa +175 over Takayama, the lines seemed reversed, but turned out the oddsmaker was WAY off

Its not my job to make sure they hang the right #'s...its theirs. I just play whats given to me.

5dimes was the only other book with odds on this fight and they have absolutely no clue about opening lines (we have talked about this before through e-mail) so there was no way for me to know it was a bad line. Esp when you consider that neither fighter has ever been stopped, both appear to have decent chins, and Quintana has excellent defence.

You can give me all the shit you want, but I'm not the one making mistakes. Since there's no way to tell if the incompitency is coming from the book or the oddsmaker, I will continue to play the odds that are given to me.

Have these people ever heard of double-checking their work? I deal with alot more numbers every day than these crooks do, and I haven't made a mistake in 10 years. These guys make mistakes every other week and you're giving me shit? Hilarious

Do you have any idea how pissed I'd be if I layed off a wager b/c I thought the line was wrong, and then found out later that the line was legit (like Kyowa over Takayama)

Sorry Joey but I'm not the one causing problems, the books are...

I noticed a guy at another site posted a play on the Under 9.5 +160...I'll ask him if he wore his skimask OR simply played the lines that were given to him

I am not out of line, you just took it way over defensively.
.....and I dont really get what your point is.

Its comical that you always reference a bout that took place in 2005 in Japan to justify betting into a mistake. Obviously no book would cancel your wager on this Julio line because like Kyowa it could be the oddsmaker. Not like the last time you flagrantly bet into what was an absolutely reversed line. I just happened to point out the obvious, that its been reversed.

Have theses people ever heard of double-checking their work? I deal with alot more numbers every day than these crooks do

Crooks.Who are you calling a crook? Why are they crooks? You win, you get paid. Have you ever been stiffed? Elaborate.

I haven't made a mistake in 10 years.

Wow, like I said, your expertise is only exceeded by your pats on the back. Its a compliment. Your excellent dude.

....but you may wanna check your boxing bets, because I think you made an error on the comeback on Virchis bout on 7-15-2006. That price didnt exist when you upped it, much like Tarver last week.

and you're giving me shit?
No one's giving you shit. I am agreeing with how great you really are and an asset to everyone that has ever bet a boxing match.

Unlike you, I have made mistakes over the past 10 years, so I am humbled by your error free work history.

I gotta hand it to you. You find the best numbers available. I often wonder if they ever existed because they are here and gone so fast. But like you said, 5dimes must be a goldmine. Oddly enough the guys got more money than he could ever spend from booking.

I only looked into your threead b/c someone asked me if I saw 9.5u-200 anywhere. When I said no, he pasted this thread in my message box. Your the best.

1) The Kyowa bout just proves that sometimes a line is not reversed, it was just bad opening line by the oddsmaker. Its true that other books were offering similar odds, but we all know most books copy your lines anyway. How was I supposed to know that 5dimes didn't mirror your line like they usually do?

2) In this case 5dimes was the only other book with odds out and they opened before sportsbook, like I said they open some horrible lines and you know it. I figured this was a case of sportsbook (you) being right, and 5dimes being wrong. It was 5dimes that adjusted their line several times while sportsbook stood still. Like I said before, Julio has power but neither guy has been stopped so the -200 wasn't an obvious reversal to me. The last time we argued about this, in that case I should've known it was a bad line.

3) I posted Tarver in my futures when 5dimes opened it, I can't help it that the line moved 65 cents in the next 2 hours and everywhere else opened him a 3-1 favorite. I can copy the wager slip for my Virchis bet if you want, I played it and then posted it when I started a new thread a couple day later. I believe it had moved to +200 by then and now its down to +170. If you want me to change my posted wager to +200 instead of the real +230 thats fine.

4) I post my weekly plays as soon as I get my cash down so there's no question about the lines I get. My future wagers are posted in the next weekly thread, thus the Virchis line movement arguement. There's only so much I can do cheif.

5) Like the great MayorgaFan, I watch for the sportsbook and pinnacle openers every week. If I don't work late, I usually get the first round. And as we've discussed, I check 5dimes very often just in case they open their own line on anything. MF can verify 95% of the lines I post, nice try though

6) Are you really asking me why I call these guys crooks? One guy we both know has a $20 limit at xxxxxx, in other words they'll take your money, but if your winning too much the deal off. Oh and then there's another guy we both know who won too much money playing bases at xxxxxx and they told him to take his business elswhere. Turns out he wasn't the kind of customer they were looking for. How many more examples do you need?

Box, Oddessa is a wise guy and pretty sharp, AND he is on the other side of the counter. Glad to see you aren't buying into in his subterfuge.

No offense taken. This is a posting forum.

EVERYTIME, I walk to the counter I have my ski mask on. You think for a second that I'm not looking to turn books upside down when I bet them? Its an expression. I simply decided to bust Box hump a tad bit after he responded so defensively.

Boxy takes the bait everytime without fail because as he pointed out, he never makes mistakes. You cant fault me for clowning him once in a while. I mean who besides Curt Henning and Boxy is really Perfect?:hail

No hard feeings everyone. Its all in good fun.

Good luck this week.

*One thing though. Just because a sportsbook cuts your limits or kicks you out, it does NOT make them crooks. A book has every right to limit or boot a player if they dont like their action. That's life. I deal with that reality every other week when trying to bet out.*

Yeh that was pretty funny all right Odd

Sounded to me like you might need to have BOX give you some opening numbers to help you out form getting burned.

So a book has every right to limit or boot players if they win too much.

Thats what we object to. I don't think crooks is too harsh a term for books that do that. We play to win. And if we play well, the books shut us down.

They have no problem with losers though. Come one come all. Not sure if you can see the irony in that behind your ski mask.

And don't think for one minute that garden won't kick your ass either. You just name the time and place and we will get him there. :sadwave:
