Tarver will have to put on his best performance in this fight, RJJ is a hell of a lot softer than Hopkins IMHO.

And Tarver is a stronger, better fighter than Taylor.
What's your point?

Tarver wins with ease.Just need to decide if it is by knockout or decision for the better odds.

Leaning towards knockout.

One has to admire Hopkins for taking on such a tremendous challenge at this stage in his career-and at his ripe old age. But let?s not get ahead of ourselves and say that Bernard has no chance, because we all know for fact that this 41 year old is still quite capable in the ring. Simply put, the guy?s a veteran, knows every trick in the book, and would be the most likely choice for being the best defensive boxer of this era. You also must take into consideration that Bernard holds an 11th round TKO victory over Glen Johnson (even if it was way back in 1997), the man who beat Tarver in 2004 via 12 round split decision. In addition, Tarver had to put on a bunch of weight for the Rocky VI movie so he?d look like a legitimate heavyweight-now he?s had to shed it all back off in a reasonably short period of time.
...........................................................................

I doubt seriously that Tarver can knock out Hopkins. Hopkins too slick for that. Tarver only talking that smack because knockouts is what sells tickets to PPV.

Not long boring 12 round decisions.

The money in this fight for me is the over 11.5

I think its a given.

Hopkins leaves with no embarressment after a long outstanding career. Hopkins will not be able to knock out Tarver either. Not at this weight. Tarver tends to get lazy. Hopkins will be happy to just trade all night.

Just cash this over 11.5

Wager: Hopkins +250 to win 3 units

The old man won't go down without a fight. I'll take the value and the guy I'm rooting for.

As much as I hate to admit it, I think Scott is right

I already had a small piece of the over at -120, which is where it opened at Sportsbook. And I just added a little more at -180.

Hopkins is as hard as they come, never really seen him hurt against some very big punchers. I know he's giving up a lot of natural weight here, but he's defense oriented and a master at it. He also strikes me as one of those guys that just doesn't get stopped, one of the hardest guys I've ever seen.

Small play on the over

the master schooled the pretender.....magnificent performance at 41 yrs old.....

history was made...

started out well with the lopez and pacquaio unders hitting...lost a tarver parlay but had a little on the b.hop decision at +316 as a hedge....glad i played it early because i lost confidence in it as fight time grew closer......

then,it looked like bhop might stop tarver....i came painfully close to losing 2 wagers and the hedges....whew....

he sapped tarver`s will.....and just maybe...ala roy jones...adding and losing all that weight played a part(i think we now know just how shot jones was trying to make 175 after ruiz)
....
but, lost the cotto inside the distance hedge and the small malignaggi play at +350....

didn`t win much....but....it was damned enjoyable....and i`m very glad that hopkins let up on tarver at the end...looked like tarver was ready to quit...

seeing pudgy, out of shape camacho jr`s career go down in flames and hopkins go out on top....

a night to remember..

btw...maybe somebody that saw malignaggi/cotto could give us a report....

After all we been through and everything you have seen, I am shocked you hate to admit,
I am right more than wrong in boxing.

Boxing and football are the two sports I see most clearly in. Its funny because that takes it from such a individual sport to one where there are so many variables.

I didn't waste my 50 bucks for the PPV as I despise watching 12 round decisions.

I wagered 400 on the -180 so not a slam for me.

Anyway, thanks for letting me post in your thread.

I think thats two in a row posting in your threads. I might be on to something.

The old man bit me in the ass.
Tarver just plain didn't show. He never let loose but at least he made no excuses. Said he just didn't have it.
My quote was Tarver is stronger and better than Taylor.
I still think both are true.
Could have been worse.Could have taken Tarver -350.
Instead had him at +185. Lost worse.

Made up for it on Cotto by decision.

I am baffled as to what to do on Taylor-Wright other than the over 11.5 which is no suprise to anyone. Thinking Taylor by decision (+150)

Yeah, well nobody can be right all the time. You just try to get the best number and hope for the best. A lot of unexpected things can happen in boxing. I had an absolutely huge weekend (it's about damn time) but you just have to treat everything 1 week at a time. Taylor-Wright is a tough fight IMO. Taylor is bigger, stronger, faster and the location favors him. Wright has a better workrate, better stamina and he is the better tehnical boxer. The over seems likely but is to expensive. ALSO, Winky's face was swelling up against light hitting Soloman, Taylor hits pretty damn hard and could swell Winky's face up.

BTW Kegray where do you play at? You can get a bit better on Taylor by dec at pinnacle and even better at 5dimes.

I too like the over in the wright -Taylor matchup, think that is a given. Also, I like Winky Wright in the Taylor-Wright matchup. Wright by 12 round decision would also be a good bet but I think I'll just take Wright SU and place another smaller bet on the over.

Watch the champions fall..................

Just playin' around Scott

You're doing very well in boxing, great calls on the Over this week and the Montiel Over last week...congrats

Looking forward to your slam of sorts on the Winky-Taylor scrap. I've got Winky by decision +150...Taylor +140...and the draw +1700. Might play the Over at -360 but small

My apologies for the Tarver recommendation

My apologies for buying back the Hopkins by decision +420 hedge that was posted in my futures for a month. Hope some of you caught my late play on the Over

Hopkins in rounds 10-12 almost came in at +2400...oh well

I thought about not bringing this up b/c I don't want to piss off anyone who lost money on Tarver under my watch. But my goal has always been to help others win cash betting boxing, so I have to at least mention it.

Before the fight started, I posted that live-betting would be offered at Bet365 and Sportsbook. I hope some you took advantage, if not I strongly suggest getting accounts at those two boooks for just that reason.

Fellas, I made a lot of money off Hopkins last night after it became obvious Tarver didn't show up. First round was very close, but it looked like Tarver could have a long night so I played Hop +275. Had Tarver -210 so it was more of a scalp at that point. After the 2nd and 3rd rounds, when it was clearly going Hops way, I was still getting +250 and +225. Hell I was still getting +175 after the 5th I believe. They finally flipped the line after 6 or 7 rounds making me lay -200 but I was glad to pay it. Unloaded my entire bet365 account at prices of -300, -350, and -400. Also played Hop a few times at Sportsbook at -220, -300, and -500 before they pulled it. Almost doubled my bet365 account in the process.

This is the 4th or 5th time that I've cashed in big on this live betting. Played Mosley big when Vargas' eye started to swell. Played Calzaghe big at mostly + money as it became obvious that Lacy was way out of his league. And a few other occasions that escape me right now.

My point is, if we can make money on the fights that we predict accurately, AND we can bail ourselves out or even cash in big on the fights that obviously aren't going our way...$$$

why apologize?...

it`s polite..o.k......but,when you throw 5-10 wagers(or more) a week out for public scrutiny, you`re gonna lose some....

that`s life...

takes balls to post all these plays...you open yourself to alot of ankle biting...

i don`t post much anymore...mayorga doesn`t post....it`s easy for us to crow after the fact....

it`s not easy to post up front....

apologies aren`t necessary,imo....

it`s great that everyone has a thread every week where you provide great leads....and all opinions and ideas are readily available....

one stop shopping for boxing wagering(i`m seeing more winning than losing)...
...or just boxing fans...

it`s all good....

keep doin` what your doing...it`s appreciated...
