Box, thanks for pointing out the witherspoon line from 5 dimes. Any thoughts on him long term? I read a Q&A with him on fight news and he's looking to make a run at the top of the division in 2 years. He's definitely got the blood line to do it. He's one person that's really a normal guy, not a conceited jerk like most of the athletes people encounter.

1) Like most gamblers who post plays, I use units to guage how strong I feel about a play that I recommend. My biggest plays are to win 2 units maximum, and my smallest plays are to win .25 or a 1/4 unit. I rarely post 2 unit plays, so a 1.5 or 1 unit play would be very solid using my scale, and my average play would be around .5 or a 1/2 unit.

In $$$'s....
2 units....500 to 750
1.5 units....400 to 500
1 unit........300 to 400
.5 unit.......100 to 300
.25...........50 to 100


2) Pinnacle and Sportsbook usually open the weekly lines late Wednesday afternoon, if they aren't up by Wed. evening it'll be Thursday around noon or so.


3) The Baldomir line was another 5dimes special just like Forrest +220, of course that was back when they didn't limit you to $100 on the openers. Like the Forrest line, the Baldomir +400 wasn't around very long, and the +17.5 points handicap ended up at 11 points I believe.

Man I like Castaneda but a 6 pound weight advantage is like light welter 140 vs. welter 147. I hope Castaneda is getting some extra money from the more talented Bojado. All bets are off for me on this fight.

I like Witherspoon's attitude too and he's got a decent jab. But based on his last few televised fights on Showtime and now ESPN, he seems hesitant to throw combinations until he's got his man hurt and his handspeed is a little below average for a heavyweight. He's still young and is improving though.

Santiago is now -400, clearly a scalp option for you. I probably would have wagered the 250. payout if allowed but the cheap bastards are still allowing just the 1 hund max payout. -400 is wayyy to wide anyways, IMO. Santiago should win but his opponent is very experienced and cagey.

I should have figured- The Greek giveth and The Greek taketh away. Now a push I'm sure what happened was those who bet the under were probably all over the book when they graded it a loss...that was a stroke of bad luck for us over folks , all part of this overall fun deal.
