Thank you Karoly Balszay for ruining the weekend
another losing one for me
my longest streak ever

I am "tapping out" as they say in MMA
I will still do the weekly schedule and cheer for you guys
but I am tired of losing - it's not fun anymore

I will take a few months off, unless someone on the boards points out something really good

otherwise I will go at it again in January
I am convinced 2009 is a cursed one for me

So sorry to hear that Brother. I'd like to exhalt in my winnings but kind of tough to with the way things turned out. A lot on the board were on the diaz/mags under, balzay in parlays etc.

Things turned out well on this side of the Pacific. All bets with the exception of the buck I put on the Pole won this week. It pays for about 70% of my Maui vacation with my daughter. It took nearly 2 1/2 hrs to get my wireless going in the hotel but worth the wait. Balzay/stieg goes over. I got nervous and hedged part of that but it still paid off nice. Garcia/Gut goes the dist to hit that over and Jacobs/Ishe goes the dist to hit another over. I think that may have been the "lock" on the week. That opened at +130:scared. I hit it for -130 and then -160 yesterday. All in all a very good week and now 6 days in Paradise.

Ghost you are just snake bit. Its a bad stretch but I hope you will take my advice and just go with 1 or 2 wagers a week. Multi wagers are killing you right now. Some of that chalk can be deadly especially if you have it tied in with multy parlays. Be patient brother.

Mai tais and bikinis await. Have a great week everybody!

WOW
I've been away for 3 weeks so this is a big bad surprise to me :(
Bad weeks happens to everyone.
Hopefully you're still in black.
Have fun in your nonbetting months, you'll have more free time that's for sure :toast:

The Balzsay fiasco cost me 2/3 of my roy jones winnings from last week.

The problem with prohibitive favs ( Paul williams last year, karmazin, Angulo and now Balzsay) is these people sometimes either

- tend to overestimate themselves/ underestimate their oponnent
or
- don't train to 100% of their possibilities because they don't feel threatened

All the while oddsmakers rate you as if 100% no matter who your facing.

This kind of obliges players to consistenly bet underdogs and hope to show a profit on the long run.

Oh and I don't know if you guys noticed, not a single under did hit this weekend. Only one stoppage and there over hit also.

Yeah, you guess it right ... I took a lot of unders and had 3rd worst weekend ever.

Romi, have fun in paradise!!

Ghost, you are a very good capper and the MVP on this board when it comes to updates, future fights, links and such.

Most good boxing guy's I know have had a shitty 2009 Brother.

Maybe you should try my method for 2009. If you have noticed, I am not betting near as many fights as 2008.
Pick one fight a week that you really like and bet a little more on it. If you don't see anything you really like, don't bet.

Whatever you decide, good luck.

I knew you were a winner from your very first post!! :toast: :toast: :toast:

@ Gohst

I know what you are talking about... the last 2-3 month had been very bad for me too. I was betrayed by the judges several times and a lot of shit happened...

I give you a hug bro. I hope to see you back in business very soon as I like your comments and you do a great job by providing all of us with all the updates/infos!

:sadwave:

All my best

Thx brother. Not gloating at all but after a second look, it was actually my best week on the yr and trip is more than paid for. I thought about sitting out so as not to start the trip on a bad note but fortunately things paid off. Listen to Wee and myself and settle for 1 or 2 good ones a week and be content to just turn a small profit. You WILL get your mojo back as long as you stay objective. You are a much needed asset to the site and would be sorely missed if you left. That might be a little selfish on our part and I realize you need to do what's best for you. In the meantime, I'll have a few mai tais for you :toast: :toast: :toast: .

I'm on the German Huck next week over the crude Argentinian. -270 is about my avg price in several bets. IF Huck stays on his feet he should win. The argentinian is one tough sob hombre though that won't quietly go into the night.

Good stuff. I absolutely second what my previous speakers said!

You, Ghost and Armagento as well, are very valuable for this forum, I really appreciate all the work you put in, thanks again!!

I don?t know whats wrong this year. There must be something odd, if most of the bettors (me included) who performed well last year are struggling. There have really been some controversial decisions and some bad calls lately?hmmm?

Well, anyways, sometimes a break can be for the best. Take it easy. Don?t hunt your losses. etc.

;-)

i've been in a funk since the oscar dela hoya fight. i've recovered my losses and then proceeded to lose them again probably 5 or 6 times.

that's 9 months of oscillating. :mj07:

i think i've finally broken the pattern though.

gambling can be frustrating as hell.
