Its time to celebrate one of the best nights I've ever had!!!

Congrats to all that follwed my plays

Good job on all your picks for this week. I had the under, so I'm happy I won there. Although, I don't feel that the fight should have been stopped........

glad i backed off braithwaite....he appears to be a `tweener at cruiser......

he should try and make lt. heavy.....because,big, strong cruisers are making life miserable for him.....

i was watching jones` face in the second.....when he basically stopped fighting.....

cramps are a bitch...

was a nice weekend....

Thanks guys

A few thoughts on this weeks action...

Cunningham-Davis

We all know that styles make fights, but sometimes size plays an even bigger role. As posted Cunningham was 8 inches taller than Davis and had at least 8 inches of reach advantage. The weigh-in picture I posted showed the extreme advantage for Cunningham. Combine the physical advantages with the fact that Cunningham's style is straight up boxer, made this a very easy fight for him, and an impossible fight for the limited Davis.

Austin-Beck

Both of these guys are absolutely horrible. Beck is slightly more skilled, but Austin is taller, longer, and has a much better chin. I think Austin hurting Beck in the first round played a huge role in this fight. It discouraged Beck and kept him honest the rest of the fight. Austin was shot after 6 rounds imo, the fact that Beck couldn't take advantage of that was absolutley pathetic. Again, Beck getting hurt in the first round played a role in him not going after Austin. Somehow Austin came back in the 11th and 12 to seal the deal but it was far from impressive. Beck had every opportunity to turn that fight around after Austin got gassed but he was either too hurt or not skilled enough to get it done.

Braithwaite-Jones

Again size played a huge role in this fight. Braith is only 6'1" or so and is best fighting at 190 or less. At 6'4" Jones is a freak of nature who has come up from 154 to barely making 200. As I have said before, Braithwaite has horrible defense. He took a lot of big shots in the Azille rematch and Mormeck landed at will against him. Braith can get away with taking shots when he's fighting smaller cruisers with no power, but when he steps in with 200 lb punchers his lack of defense gets him in trouble. Jones would give Mormeck a better fight than Braith strictly b/c of his height and reach. But I don't think Jones is a very skilled fighter, size and power is his game.

I'll be back later to explain why the cruiserweight division needs a weight adjustment, and why the heavyweight division is horrible these days.
