IMO Ortiz really is an opponent I cant argue with!
His power and youth, as well as Mayweathers age and the long layoff could possibly make for an exciting fight.

I'm almost tempted to give him a shot, but so far Money hasnt slipped, and IMO it was a bit alarming how easy Oritz was hit by Berto!!

So far I have Floyd ins some parlays, over 8 / over 9 rounds and some money on Floyd by late ko / the fight ending late!

I suppose Floyd by decision is the likeliest outcome, but at good plus numbers I'm willing to take a shot!

Mayweather can beat Ortiz.

Floyd will run around the ring like the little bitch that he is, and Ortiz will have a hard time catching up with him.

Floyd is a boxer. Ortiz is a slugger.

Floyd has seen this many times before.

That is why he agreed to fight Ortiz.

This will be one boring fawking fight.

70 yr old Joe Cortez is the ref for the fight

probably hand picked by Floyd.

The way this ref manages fights plays right into what Floyd likes to do.

Ortiz will have to overcome the third man in the ring to have any chance at all in this fight.

I doubt it.

I also doubt that Floyd will be able to knock out Ortiz. that means decision for FMJ

that fawker

Don't know if you watched 24/7 overtime, but on it Sugar Ray Leonard said something about a temple shot being very dangerous. It may be Ortiz' only chance. Leonard says Floyd is not going to get tagged on the chin. I think the ref/corner stop Ortiz' from getting punished.

Nice to see ur takes KOD!!!!!!!
If u r boycotting the ppv, think about the sorry saps like me, going to Vegas in thethe morning, that the strip wants to charge $50 a head just for the privledge to watch it closed circuit. I called a lot of bars and no luck. I refuse to pay that much just as a cover charge for this!!!!! I got a valuable tip about maybe one of the
off strip casino chains showing it. If that don't pan out, LV
mariachi festival here I come!!!!!!

Best of luck!!!!!!!!!

Prop plays

Prop plays

1)Mayweather knocked down or out +300-Bodog.
2)Mayweather wins in rds. 7-12 +398-5Dimes.
Ortiz is dangerous early, and has the pop to cause a knock down. Remember, a knock down is called if a guys gloves(s) just touch the canvas, or he is held up by the ropes. Lets hope Cotez is "fair but firm"! If this goes into the later rounds, and Ortiz becomes desperate, he could leave himself open for a counter/lead right from Mayweather, which by the way, is Floyd's bread and butter punch. The ref/corner stop it so a young fighter lives to fight another day, hence, the 7-12 rd. play. One last thought, if this becomes a clinch fest/glorified sparing match, I am going to puke.

when have you ever seen mayweather run?....he stands right in the pocket and makes guys miss and counters ......

maybe early in his career, but i don`t honestly recall mayweather using his feet all that much(,other than to give a guy angles).....certainly not in a good while...

OMG!!

This has to be some of the craziest shit I have seen in a boxing ring!

First, Ortiz kind of randomly mixes in a headbutt in his flurry!

Then, all of a sudden, it looks like he wants to make love to Floyd: hugs and kisses him (which makes the random head butt even harder to understand).

Finally, after getting penalized and hugging Floyd again (who seemingly accepts the apology), Floyd immediately follows up the hug with a left hook?

Ortiz reaction: he looks to ref Ortiz, who hasn?t been paying attention at all (WTF!?!?), and gets hit flush on the chin (totally unsuspecting) by a Mayweather right hand!

KO!!

Honestly, I don?t know who to blame for this bullshit!!!

I guess, they all made crucial mistakes!

Why the f*** is the ref not looking to the fighters in a situation like that and breaking them up cleanly!?!?

What was Ortiz thinking in the first place when he threw that completely random head butt!?
And why did he look to the ref instead to Floyd after the first punch (?protect yourself at all times?)!?!

And then after the fight, supposedly a huge disappointment (or was it!?), he jokes around with mayweather like nothing happened!?

I don?t know, if Mayweather could have been disqualified for this, as the ref was pretty much uninvolved in breaking them up or generally doing anything usefull!

But, at the very least, this has to be one of the worst displays of lack of sportsmanship in a long time!

I have heard the word scam in some forums.
Well, I don?t know about this, but Ortiz certainly seemed peculiarly uninterested in staying in the fight (or winning the fight for that matter)!!?!

Not a good week for me, as I was expecting the fight to go a few more rounds!! : /

i saw the ref motion them to the ring to start fighting again, why ortiz went to hug and apologize is beyond me...

floyd i thought gave him more than a fair chance to get his hands up after the apology but he just stood there looking at floyd...

imo a fair KO.

the only one at fault here is ortiz for the obvious intentional headbutt (then lying about it after the fight) and not realizing he was in a boxing match, not an episode of oprah.

well, it wasnt against the rules, but IMO Floyd did clearly take advantage of a situation where Ortiz (even though you may say for no real reason) was not prepared!

"the bunker"
was probablt the best possible turn of events for ortiz......it deflects away from the fact that he was getting embarrassed in there....

ortiz is a solid contender...a champion actually.......not a chump...and he was getting toyed with....

so now, rather than the fact that he was losing every round, people will focaus on the controversy......

i honestly expected ortiz to be more competitive...he wasn`t......i think this just might queer any chance of seeing mayweather vs pacquaio....don`t think he`ll be anxious to get in there after seeing mayweather absolutely clown a bigger, younger world class lefty with power...

the real blame falls on cortez, for not being more definitive in his actions....forget trying to locate the timekeeper....do your job in the ring,asshole.......

and persoanlly, i was glad to see mayweather ream merchant...`bout time somebody called hbo out for their constant biased commentary...

floyd`s a pathetic human being,imo....a despicable character...but,imo,so was ali.....it all depends on what they`re saying and whether the media agrees with what they`re spewing...

unfortunately,he`s so much better than everybody else,it`s ridiculous... .

Got to hand it to Merchant :mj07: "If i was 50 years younger i would kick ur ass" :mj07: According to Lampley Ortiz was winning the fight so it is a shame it happen like that. According to people who can actually see Ortiz wasn't landing anything. That is why he tried the head butt. Complete frustration. He got what he deserved. Would have been nice to see the fight continue with Floyd having that chip on his shoulder. after Ortiz got hit the first time why was he standing there like an idiot to receive the second shot? Also Lederman another guy who seems to have trouble seeing, said in the second round in the Morales fight that Morales looked like he lost all his speed. :mj07: Im watching the third round watching Morales pick his opponent apart.

@Sponge:

That was absolutely hilarious!!

BTW, Mayweather controlled the fight, but I think rounds 1-2 and round 4 were reasonably competetive!!

Yeah but was Ortiz really landing anything? If u had the sound off i think it would have been a little more fair. Lampley was seeing all kinds of stuff i wasn't seeing. I don't know if he is betting on these fights or he is just this blind. I see Floyd land a shot and he say's it is Ortiz nice punch. Even Manny jumped in a few times and gave Floyd some credit. I think Lampley puts huge money on these fights cause nobody can possibly be this wrong all of the time. I remember back in the day i started putting things in slow mo cause i thought i was the one who was blind.

I didnt watch the HBO broadcast!

Its true that Ortiz didnt land many clean punches. He probably should have gone to the body more, but still, I didnt see it that one-sided!

Of course, it would probably have been pretty one sided after a few more rounds...like in most Mayweather fights!!
