NO SUPER SIX

NO SUPER SIX

Well, September 25th is next weekend, and I guess that means no Dirrell-Ward as originally scheduled.

What's up with these two?

El Perro being deported

El Perro being deported

Unreal. I knew something was up when he fought Cintron. All this time I thought Gary Shaw was too cheap to fly Angulo and his crew to Florida. Turns out he couldn't risk flying.

Dude has crossed illegally twice. That's a pretty impressive 2 wins, 0 losses. But looks like the jig is up.

BAD BAD news. He'll obviously fight on in Mexico and elsewhere but he'll only make a fraction of what HBO was going to pay him.

This immigration thing pisses me off. I don't give a fvck if he entered illegally or not. The guy is making millions or close to it, paying his taxes, making the IRS 100ks, putting money into the economies of the fight venues etc and yet Uncle Sam is going to make an example out of him and boot him out. The guy is victim of current politics, plain and simple. I don't even think he can buy his way out of this one.

Maybe he could cut a deal w/Jin Mosley...marry the bytch, get his greencard, give her half his income yet FIGHT IN THE US!

If these decisions were actually made with common sense, Angulo would continue to fight here and contribute to the US economy.

But it doesn't look good for El Perro.

And as far as Jin goes, we all know if she sniffed a penis within 100 yards of her that could make her money, she would swallow it faster than you can say "prenup".

The way things are going in this country, it won't be long before fights in Mexico pay as well or better than fights in the U.S. Boxing being a tiny slice of the whole pie of events, you can see a subtle shift in this direction already. Over the past couple of years, there have been a lot more high profile fights in Mexico. They are getting more fights on TV, and getting a lot more international fighters in there.

As for Perro, I think he still has a lot of options and will be fine. Mexico will pay him well enough, and some German outfit will probably sign him, and he'll be over there fighting in front of 20,000 people. It has reached the point that fighters really don't 'need' the US market anymore.

Anybody got any video links for Bob Ajisafe? I can't find anything on youtube. If no video, I wonder if anyone UK side has any insight they can share about the guy? I know he was in the prizefighter, and lost a controversial decision to Dilks I think. I didn't see that card though. He does have a pretty good win against O.McKenzie.

no links but read he was nearly out in the 1st v O Mc. Only 2 kos on his record indicates very little pop. There is some footage of Bellew. He stopped a guy in 1 that went 10 rds with Stieg in his previous. Bellew is cocky, confident, fast and can bang a little bit. He does appear to be a bit over zealous though and if Ajisafe survives the early going, perhaps he could have some success in the latter rds. Bellew has yet to go beyond 6. He did suffer a kd v a guy with a horrendous record with 0 kos. I'd have to imagine it was probably a flash off balance variety as the rd was scored 10-9. There is much talk of an eventual showdown with Cleverly.

Thanks Romi,

That's pretty much my assessment of Ajisafe and the fight in general. Bellew should win, but in the footage I saw I was not all that impressed. Talk of fighting Cleverly is way premature IMO. Ajisafe will be his toughest opponent to date, and the guy has proven to be a decent fighter. It seems to me that the odds are a bit out of whack here. I certainly wouldn't touch Bellew at -900. Ajisafe probably won't get it done, but +600 may be worth a little dog shot.
