I like Neil Perkins over Danny Hughes. I would make Perkins favorite in this one but odds makers made him underdog maybe I missing something, anyway I placed a bet on him.

valero at it again:

http://www.secondsout.com/usa-boxin.../valero-arrested-on-domestic-violence-charges

this dude isnt worth all the trouble, as a destructive force in the ring, he's more self destructive outside

from the motorcycle crash that initially canned his license in the first place, getting attacked in his old barrio, his wife getting shot up while driving, getting put in jail for carrying an illegal firearm...

thought dimes might throw us a bone but no such doing. I really didn't have a good take on this though. My lean would have been on Cazarez at probably close odds.

Some interesting bouts this week.

Tua appears to be in good shape. Why did he halt his comeback anyhow? Just moved back to New Zealand, maybe tired of the game.

Any thoughts on the A.Smith-H.Crawford fight? Seems to be a very evenly matched contest. Anybody know anything about their amateur careers?

Shamone Alvarez vs. Decarie in Canada should also be close odds. I'm assuming Decarie had a solid amateur career. Anyone know anything extra about him?

Is Sarritzu-Rodrigues still happening? It's no longer listed on Boxrec.

There won't be odds on him yet, but check out middleweight prospect Edwin Rodriguez against spoiler D.Boone this weekend. Rodriguez is the real deal. They are matching him reasonably tough early in his career.

I have not seen odds either, but I would lean Cazares.

If the Sarritzu fight is off again, then damnit, they should just cancel the fight. This would be the FOURTH time they rescheduled that bout.

Don't know much about the undefeated Crawford, but Smith looked good against Guttierez. However, I'm not sure how much Guttierez had left.

Nobuo Nashiro DRAW Hugo Cazares

Never saw a line, though. I was leaning towards the Mexican also.

Henry Crawford over Antwone Smith. Crawford should be able to win this one, imho.

I like Crawford in this fight as well. A.Smith is improving, but has had some tough fights. Crawford is taller and may be able to outbox Smith. Toss-up fight imo. Favorable odds +160 on Crawford is, I think, a decent play.

No line on Alvarez vs. Decarie.

I like Shamone in this fight.

My plays so far...

My plays so far...

Green vs Simms Under 9.5 -135 -Medium
Green has the power, speed and height to knockout a flat footed, 38 year old middleweight who's best fight was a draw against Robert Frazier 4 and a half years ago. Plus, Green fighting in his home state which could help for an early stoppage as well.

Henry Crawford +160 -Small
Crawford has a decent amateur background with almost 100 fights. He's faster and taller than Antwone. Antwone had little or no amatuer background, but has shown great improvement in his last couple fights. Antwone is very game and hard working, but I don't think it will be enough against Crawford. This will be Crawford's toughest test so far in his pro career, but I think he is ready to make his mark.

Tua vs Cameron Under 7.5-160 -Medium
Tua looks to be in great shape with plenty of time to train because of the delays with Cameron's broken hand healing. Tua trained hard because he really dislikes Shane Cameron for always calling him out publically without earning a showdown by beating a good opponent. I see the left hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head stopping Shane in rounds 3-5. Cameron also cuts almost as bad as Gatti, so that could also end the fight early.

2 Parlay-Tua-270 + Green -500 (= -155)- Large

Good luck Guys! :box2:

I believe Terrance Cauthen is replacing Shamone

mmhmm...thanks for the update.

Also valuable was the info. on the Crawford-Smith backgrounds.

Sold me on the Green-Simms under as well.

Good logic behind the plays. Best of luck. I'll be with you on most of them. I'm also on Tua.

Why do you like Perkins? I really don't know much about either guy. On paper they seem evenly matched. Amateur backgrounds?

Fightwriter did a good job writing out most important points about this fight, I am glad that he also came to the conclusion that likeliest winner is Perkins.
