Hey guys, at one of the boxing websites a report has surfaced regarding a July 06' PBF fight with Antonio Margarito! Who-hoo. This, if it takes place is a real beaut. Shooting from the hip, I'll take the odds with AM. Classic match-up. Boxer extraordinarie versus a tough as nails puncher. I realize Mayweather has the tools to get it done here. I'm a fan here and will bet Margarito UNLESS something highly unusual happens.

Are you saying this because you like Margarito's chances or because you just don't like PBF? I only say this as most, if not all, of the participants in this forum wager real money on these fights and it behooves all of us to be as objective as possible in order to reach a comprehensive analysis. I like AM here IF, and it's a big IF, I get juicy odds. Margarito will come to fight and give 110%. I'll get my money's worth. Mayweather, amazingly seems to improve still today. A scary dude to be sure. BUT, if Margarito hits a guy solid, they stay hit. Floyd faces his most powerful opponent to date.

Maybe you feel Margarito should be chalk, but I sure hope not. Honestly, if he does fight and beat Margarito, then in my book he is beyond a doubt the best on the planet. Most feel he is now. Margarito is a REAL welterweight. I feel Judah was a little small to really be a viable welterweight. Lets just hope they do this!

mayweather thinks de la hoya will defeat mayorga, he knows margarito will defeat himself so.........arum gets 750 big ones and mayewather gets to keep his little balls......pure cowardice !!!!!!!!

Guess you are right. I hope the crazy Mayorga hurts Oscar. What BS. Who wants to see PBF fight Oscar? Any real boxing fans? I think not. Once again Margarito is ducked. A shame really. Antonio is a class act and a hell of a fighter. Floyd could get hurt bad and lose millions. Boxing does suck sometimes. This is one time.

Oh brother, Margarito's biggest claim to fame is the fact that Floyd is "ducking" him because he certainly don't have the resume for all this talk. If Oscar beats Mayorga it makes sense for Mayweather to fight Oscar. Margarito hasn't really proven that he's better than Oscar anyways. He did losse to Daniel Santos not all that long ago :nono:

It makes sense for them financially. Guess we just ain't seeing this the same way. Floyd is looking for the big payday, point blank. So is Oscar. I'm not saying who is better than who. This is about the Benjamins, not proving who is REALLY the best. PBF has too much to risk in a Margarito fight. He may win the fight, but it's easier and it pays much better to fight DLH.

"the bunker"
i always hoped for a margarito/mayorga showdown before mayorga was exposed.....

he was a top 10 pfp guy when margarito was an afterthought....

would have been an excellent dog opportunity...

i know oscar`s been inactive....and i know he`s got distractions....

but, mayorga`s not knocking guys out at jr middle....

unless oscar`s slipped...alot....i have trouble seeing him overwhelmed here at 154.....

maybe i`m wrong...

Styles make fights. Oscar is a tougher fight for Floyd than slow ass Margarito.

I don't even think this is worth discussing...WOW is obviously a Mayweather hater...who cares?

This is a no-brainer...a non-issue

Why would Mayweather fight Marg for 5mill when he can fight DLH for 10mill?

I understand all this "who is really the best" talk but put yourself in Mayweathers position and who would you fight next...exactly

Here's the kicker...the DLH cash cow is coming to an end. He's coming down to his last few fights and Mayweather would be wise to get a piece of that action ASAP

Mayweather still has 5 good years in him and so does Margarito. That fight will still be there in 2 years if things go right. May wouldn't lose his 147 belt for losing to DLH at 154 (and you know Oscar ain't making 147) So if Marg wins his next few against decent competiton, the Mayweather fight could happen down the road.

Mayweather's doing the right thing, its not cowardice...its intelligence

Frank, FYI, The club OWNER/OPERATOR where mayorga spent his last TEN days training, has 'invested' in Ricardo.....DUE TO 'underrated intelligence' FWIW.

Is that the same as irrational exuberance? Thanks for the heads up.

Frank, Talking about 'IRRATIONAL EXUBERANCE', Did you see MAYWEATHER JR. jump up during the first knockdown! He is delusional in thinking OSCAR will fight his trainer's SON.My sources tell me that Mayweather,JR. is in need of some SUGAR...(SHANE) LOOK OUT LITTLE FLOYD!
