The decision in the Martinez-Cintron fight was insane. I gave Cintron every possible benefit of the doubt and still had Martinez a clear winner. The ref clearly said "10" in round 7, and even though Cintron was getting up he wasn't all the way up. (In Britain we would have called it: "Counted out in the act of rising.") I think that Cintron talked the referee into letting him continue. It was as simple as that. The deduction of a point from Martinez in the last round was absurd. Cintron was ducking low all night and Martinez was throwing downward, chopping rights --- it was not as if he was trying to hit Cintron on the back of the head intentionally. Honestly, Germany is always getting slammed for so-called biased judging but I have to say that bizarre and downright questionable officiating happens everywhere, in the U.S. as well as overseas. The refereeing and scoring was so patently awful in the Martinez-Cintron fight it made you wonder if there was something dodgy going on. As soon as the referee let the fight continue after actually counting out Cintron I sensed something weird and unfair was going to happen. Martinez was disappointing, but nevertheless he won that fight.
