What I like about boxing is there's no kicking involved.

Yes, it is better on average. But I have seen a number of MMA fights that follow the pattern we saw tonight, where they never really come to terms with each other.

They should make a rule that the purse is cut in half if you don't win by knockout. I dont know, that's off the top of my head. There has to be some incentive to get some actual fighting, rather than just outpointing. But again, this is the challenger's fault, not the champion's.

I say purse should be 80 % winner and 20% loser or something like this.

It cracks me up that people watch Mayweather fights then bitch about the whole sport being boring. He's only 1 fighter, f you don't like him don't watch. However there are plenty of exciting boxers around. GSP in MMA can bore a casual fan to tears with his low risk approach to fighting yet people in this thread are talking about MMA like it has no boring fights.

Great fight, there's tons and tons of great boxing matches but its easier to just know very little about the sport and say it sucks because of 1 fighter I guess.

Maybe because MMA is now becoming more and more popular, there has been a comparison between the latter and boxing. Though those 2 are different, MMA has some boxing elements in it that makes people compare it with the latter. Due to the intensity of each MMA fights, people tend to favor it more than boxing because let's face it, most (if not all) combat sports fans love to see blood in every intense matches - something that can be seen on the first few minutes or seconds of the fight. This is just my opinion.

I'm a big boxing fan and I'll take the shenanigans until I die. There are a couple really good fight a year

and a great fight every 10 years, another one should be coming up since castillo corrales is almost a decade old
