Agree bro. And thanks for offering a constructive solution and not insults. Mares looks pretty good but you know these Africans; tough as nails. A Mexican versus an African; brutal.

Peterson-Cayo

Peterson-Cayo

Am I just being too anxious looking for a line on this or is it really too early? I'm thinking the odds makers already have a line created, but maybe I am wrong. I guess it just annoys me that the Cosmopolitan in Vegas is blowing their horn about their high line fight venue, but post numbers like a day or two before the fight.

Now you did it! I won't be surprised if they pull the line altogether. I only ask because it gets really old driving around in 100+ heat to casinos and getting the run around. As weasel said, its a good show for FNF.

Well it happens at the Orleans all the time. They have/had Friday fights for years. $25 seats; like 6-8-10 fights depending; some absolute barn burners. They DID NOT/WOULD NOT post lines. They said they did'nt want to risk exposure. OK, says I, limit the wagers to $250, and move the number, or, cut off betting at a total set amount wagered from all players. They say their are sooooooo afraid to lose. OH, poor babies! I am not driving down to the freakin Cosmopolitan to check for this Friday. Maybe the Hard Rock, though, as chicks are walking all over the place in minimal clothing.
P.S>Hard Rock/Cosmo/M/Trop all are Cantor books; all have the same lines.

Brian Magee vs. Jaime Barboza

Brian Magee vs. Jaime Barboza

(Brian Magee -625, 7.5 Under +105)

Fight takes place in Barboza's native Costa Rica. Amazingly this is for the interim WBA 168 strap. I say amazing because not only is Barboza unworthy of a "title" shot, he's fought at 168 but once, spending nearly his entire career at 154. Brian Magee is a career 168er, at one point a 175er. So it goes without saying Magee will have a massive size advantage, let alone talent, experience, etc. As much as I can gather, I don't believe Barboza's ever faced a southpaw before, and even if he has, definitely not one near the caliber of Magee. In fact, in Barboza's 21 fights, it seems he's only had 2 notable, both against Jose Pinzon, a win and a loss. He first knocked out Pinzon in 7, later to be knocked out by Pinzon in 8 by a vicious uppercut/hook to the body. Pinzon if you recall came in as a late sub for JCC Jr. against Pawel Wolak in what was a war. I've only been able to see footage of his fight against Pinzon, and he appears to be a pressure fighter w/ mediocre defense and a shaky chin. He also doesn't seem to have much power, and with all this being at light middleweight, I can't see how he'd stand any chance against Brian Magee who has power and is a good body puncher. I'd have to throw the home advantage right out the window w/ this one. I'd say this is an excellent parlay stuffer, and I will also be taking a chance on the under because I think Magee and his camp realize that at 36 this lucky shot may be his last shot, and despite the seemingly easy road to the title, they wouldn't want to leave it up to the scorecards on foreign soil. Just kicking off the weekend w/ an early one y'all.

My play is Lamont Sanford, I mean Peterson! I think Miranda's pro fight background will rattle the 31 year old with 8 pro fights. You know at least Miranda will give you your moneys worth, if for 1 round or 12. He is a maniac, but ya gotta love him.

I think there is a perfect hedge opportunity in the Miranda/Despaigne fight.
Over 8 1/2 rounds at -125.
Miranda to win at +240.

I believe Despaigne will win on points but you are still covered if Miranda lands a big right in 8 rounds or less.

I think Cayo is a really skilled fighter but Peterson is just a little bit better.

There are 2 underdog fights I think are worth a bet-
Stephen Jennings to beat Derry Mathews at +400.
Mathews is skilled but with a complete china chin, 5 KO's in 5 losses. I would bet on my 90 year old Granny against him at those odds.

Porpramook to beat Rachman at +220.
Porpramook is better at 105 pounds than the odds listed and Rachman is 39 years old in this weight class.
