The phrase "trava-sha-mockery" came from a beer commercial several years ago...I believe it was Miller Lite

It was a politician standing at a podeum protesting the format of the debate and the way it was being handled. He said..."this election is a travesty, a sham , and a mockery....its a...a...trava-sha-mockery"

The moderator then tells him he's not allowed to make up words, which further annoys the candidate, and in a state of frustration/rebellion he yells..."bartelflickel"...lol

One of my favorite commercials of all time

The speed difference between Margarito and Cotto is absolutely silly. He's going to make Margarito look slow as hell. Margarito's best hope is that he tires Cotto down as the fight progresses and gets him late. I think Cotto wins comfortably though.

I agree that Cotto will outbox Marg and stack up rounds, the question is...can Cotto take Marg's best shot and the onslaught Marg will follow up with when he hurts him. Cotto has been hurt by much smaller guys and much lessor punchers, if he gets rocked like I've seen him several times in the past, he won't escape Marg like he did the others.

Marg is a good 4" taller and longer than Cotto, its not like Cotto can just stay on the outside and outbox Marg while staying out of danger. For Cotto to land punches, he's gonna have to get inside, which means he'll be taking punches on the way in. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think at some point in the fight, Marg will land one of those bombs, if not some of those bombs, and Cotto will find himself in very big trouble against the much bigger guy.

I expect Cotto to fade late, fighting a much bigger guy who applies constant pressure will slow him down at some point. And I expect Marg to come on late, making this very interesting down the stretch

I'll take my chances with the +175 and see what happens

Franki i thought i saw you say something about Paq/Diaz fight but i can't find it. I hate to turn your thread into a "trava-sha-mockery" but have you seen any odds on this fight?

Spongy-actually no. I haven't focused on that as I think Pac-man totally outclasses Diaz. It's at Mandalay so numbers should be up but my lazy ass just doesn't want to trek down there. Maybe Punchy will be kind enough to look into it. We are going on a little sojurn so I'll check when I get back. Line should be Pac like -350, 9.5 rounds:shrug:

Thanx Romi for bailing me out. No way I want spongy after me! Weasel tells me he once beat a guy to death with a wet noodle.

Yeah i use to also box. I use to box fruit loops for Kellogs. On another note why couldn't that line be a little nicer for Paq? Im not impressed at all with Diaz. Obviously the linesmakers are not either.

Margarito being taller won't matter. It's not like he can't be hit a lot by shorter guys from the outside. Take a look at the Lujan fight and all the silly shots Margarito was getting caught with. Margarito will be trying to get inside to make it an infight so him being taller won;t matter much. He won't use it anyways. Whether or not Margarito can win or not will come down to the late rounds. it is a possibility that Cotto can do a lot of damage to Margarito early and he will be considerably slowed down.

Looking for opinions on Sprott Bidenko, Sprott is quite an underdog at +330 and Elcock +120 (bwin) and -110 (5dimes) looks interesting too.

Santiago has great value against luevano.
leuvano hasnt fought anyone.
santiago will try to get him out of there while luevano will try to keep it a boxing match.
Santiago should get the upset.
I think the line is way off.

I like miranda but I'm not so sure about this one.
Abraham fought him well last time even with the broken jaw. Albeit the ref was killing miranda by taking points away. I'll go small miranda.

I like margarito for a lot of reasons. Cotto will have to get inside to hit margarito, opening him up to take shots.
Margarito has a granite chin. Cotto's chin is suspect. Margarito can box if he wants and his reach gives him advatage on the outside if he uses his jab. All fighter's eventually lose and this is the worst matchup cotto has seen.
Unless Cotto really hurts Margarito to the body I dont think he can get the win.

@Chill
I think that Cotto is by far the better boxer in this fight, should be more effective with the jab...

I agree he is the better boxer but I think Margarito will catch him with some hard shots and at least score some knockdowns if he doesnt stop him.

I saw an interview with Elcock, he looks serious and the fight is in his hometown, McDermott's opposition sucks...we'll see...
