Big Mack..

You can get them at -250 now, not sure I would take them after this, but I am sure a lot of people will be loading up on them again, or then again maybe a lot of people will go for the sweep?

Better off spending your money on :toast: :drinky: and :weed: at least then you know you will be all:grins:

I would strongly advise against playing the M's large tomorrow. You are relying on a struggling James Baldwin and a team that is not getting any production from its key hitters. If you are looking for a gameto unload on tomorrow, I would think Kris Benson is the horse to ride.

I spoke with fletcher last night after the M's lost the first game.. He said he was going to be on them tonight as well.. I wrote back and said if they did loose tonight I'd double up on the 3rd and final game.. He said he would do the same..

If the M's loose tomorrow night I'm finished until football season..

No way should Seattle loose 2 of 3 at home to the D-Rays.. Seattle can hit the Yankees and Red Sox staff but not the D-Rays.. I still say some games get tanked so that the books clean up.. Just like Roids in Baseball, some things are almost obvious and people don't talk about them or want to believe it happens until someone comes forward and says it's true.. I'd love to know how much the Books & Bookies made off of tonights Seattle Loss.. Tell me what 1 loss to these guys means?? Nothing.. I don't really understand why managers don't go by basic baseball strategy in the late innings of a game.. Last night the Braves have a runner on second with 0 outs and tied up in the 10th.. A no brainer.. BUNT !!!! Tonight same thing.. Runner on second with 0 outs in the bottom of the 8th and down by 1 run.. I say BUNT !! Some of you might say that I've had to much to drink tonight (which I have) but WHY IN THE HELL DON'T THESE MANAGERS BUNT THE RUNNER OVER FROM 2ND TO SET UP A TIE OR A WIN?? Hell I was taught that shit in little league.. Enough of my ranting.. I'm calling my local now and putting damn near 5K to win 2K on Seattle for tomorrow.. G/L to all of you..

Guys, I think if you want the shortest period of anger you should take the Cinci game in the morning. Unload half or so of your loss tonight and see how that goes. Cinci has proven to be an all around team lately and Rijo is a good pitcher. Plus Florida's starter has and 11+ era. This one sounds better than waiting all day pissed to hope for a sac fly out of Sea. Please tell me what you guys think. I will be hitting it for 6 units first thing in the morning.

I think taking over 9 would be a better bet at even, then if their bats do come alive, you win at a cheaper price, and if they don't you don't lose 2.5 to 1, plus they might give up all together and let the DRAYS trample them, worth a look I think..

Big Mack,

I happen to agree with you about bunting in that situation but a lot of mangers don't. I don't think it has anything to do with fixing a game, they just expect their run producers to produce runs or at least a ball to the right side to advance the runners without taking the bat out of their hands.

Just my opinion, but I think sometimes the best value over the course of a season is in teams that do the little things. Good middle relief, bunting and moving runners over, good defense, etc. For example I think a big reason Detroit is on a tear is getting Truby and his defense at 3rd base. I swear they would have lost Tuesday with Paquette at 3rd as Truby started 2 key double plays in a 1 run win.

I wrote a column about this for my page tomorrow but for those of you that don't read it, I am basically saying you have to be prepared in case the impossible happens. There is no reason to make a 10 unit make up bet if you are a 1 or 2 unit bettor. You may be down, but give yourself a month to make it up betting 1 or 2 units and you will be surprised how well you do. Successful handicapping is done over a lifetime, not a day or a week or a month or even a year.

I'll tell you what's wrong in Seattle. First off, Boone had a once in a lifetime year last year. He's overrated as hell. Not overly impressed with Olerud, either. He doesn't have much power, doesn't drive the ball in the gaps that often and is slow as hell, to boot. Mike Cameron 4 HR's one night? Great! Too bad he's one of the most inconsistent players in all of baseball. Jeff Cirillo?? Phuck....I think I'd like to have David Bell back right about now. Cirillo is a freaking joke (when he's even in the lineup). Catching tandem of Wilson/Davis? Damn.....talk about EASY OUTS!!!!! Carlos Guillen hitting around .300? That's nice.....also big-time fluke. He'll be batting .250 before the year is over....he doesn't know the strike zone well enough. Mark McLemore playing every day??? Very average player. Guys like him are a dime a dozen in the big leagues. Sierra has really been cooling down as of late. Watch the highlights. When you see this guy hit an HR, I'll guarentee you 99.99999999999% of the time it'll be on a fastball and I think pitchers have learned about that fact. Thus he's no longer on a "tear."

No Mariner starter has been close to dominant. Baldwin is Ok for such a "low" $$$ amount, but nothing better. Moyer's ERA is over 5. Now that guys are actually waiting for strikes instead of fishing, he ain't so great anymore (OK...very nice start against TB the other night...I'll give him that). Garcia is a NO. 1 starter, but he's ANYTHING but dominant.

I'd love to see this team play Arizona in the world series. They wouldn't score a phucking single run off Johnson or Schilling. No joke!!!! Also, I don't like betting on Tampa Bay, but Baldwin at
-240 is one of the funniest jokes I think I've ever heard!!!!! Sorry these saps played so poorly for all of you who had them (as did I) last night.

Mariners

Last year the M's won 116 games which took an unbelievable amount of focus and concentration i.e. very few games in which they didn't mentally prepare to win (get up for).Playing hard for all 162 games left them with an empty gas tank at playoff time mentally.Last Friday after winning the first game of the Bosox series,Cameron made a quote in the Boston papers about Boston being 6-0 vs Tbay, and how the M's had played and beaten all the top teams. They haven't won since. No way the M's are up for the Drays(who have probably read Camerons quote as well and want to make him/them eat those words) ,their mid-order hitting is slumping, and Baldwin has indeed been struggling. There has been some talk in Seattle this week that he might be the odd man out of the rotation if Rafael Soriano is inserted in the starting line-up sucessfully. If inspiration can help Baldwins performance problem, that angle is covered tonight, but I'd have to agree they're shaky right now.Anybody who's counting them out of the post season (that we'll likely never see) is making a mistake.
