Well, I'll tell you what. if you got fuched on a $12,000 sale or deal, and you were asking for help ( like if anybody REALLY knew about MASTER CARD policies, etc. ) would you want me screwing around about Bullshit "Knockoff Rolexes) vs. my REAL one I got scamed for.. If you think I'm wrong , too freekin bad, I don't need some $30 Bullshit ing Knockoff ramble.. Exactly WHAT purpose did it serve ....answer: NONE
If you want to fuch around ,fine be it,just start another thread and giggle away, but DON"T bother at my expense,as I am a very upset camper when it comes to this subject... I'm trying to forget my anger, and have some fun on the beer threads right now and get my mind off the $12,000 I got 'stiffed' for...Spanky.....:(

I am not good with math but I am good in plenty of other areas. I was wondering though if one of you cool dudes could help your buddy Brett out. How many cases of Molson or Coors can you buy with $12,000?

And if you dudes are interested I will put some autographed items up for auction on EBAY. Just let me know what you want. It won't be cheap so be prepared to fork over a good chunk of change if you want anything of mine.

infinii,

Just for reference, the difference between online or phone orders and face to face credit card transactions is the signature. If a merchant has a signature that matches the signature on the back of the card, then they are not held responsible if the card is reported stolen. If a merchant took the order online or over the phone without a signature, then it is buyer beware.

I will probably make myself look stupid by telling you this story, but the reason I know is because in college I was stupid enough to allow my brother and his best friend to pay for picks on my credit card and they always refused to release the picks unless we faxed my signature authorizing the transaction back and forth.

For anyone who uses Ebay as a merchant, I would strongly advise taking that security measure. It costs a buck to send a fax at Kinko's so if someone is paying via credit card for a several thousand dollar item, it is a good idea to fax back and forth a document authorizing the purchase so the merchant can protect themselves from credit card fraud. You make the buyer photocopy the back of the card so that you have a copy of the signature and then you have them sign a form saying that they are authorizing the purchase. It is a hassle, but I believe it would help in any dispute that would arise with Mastercard or another credit card company. A signature is generally the key item in moving responsibility for losses via credit card fraud from the merchant to the bank or Mastercard.
