I'd rather have Larry Bird on my team than Lebron....and I'll also take Kobe.....still yet to see anyone better than Jordan.

The East is terrible. Put LeBron in the West and he looks a lot worse. Then again....put Bird in the West back in the day and he probably ends up with 5+ titles...not to mention what would have happened if Len Bias doesn't OD on cocaine.

I'm biased b/c I love Bird and just feel like he is the total package (so is Jordan and so is Kobe...and don't get me wrong, LeBron is damn good) but I really wonder....if Bias lives and plays with Celtics...I wonder if Bird isn't considered the best of all time...or at least 2nd behind Jordan. Bias dying killed that franchise for years and years.

Lame argument....Why not just compare him to Wilt Chamberlin. Lebron would destroy BIRD. Closed book. The fact you think KOBE is better than Lebron kills this discussion for me.

how was bird winning 5+ titles if he played in the west???

unless he was on the lakers he'd have been lucky to win one or two.

Lebron is not even close to Bird, much less Jordan.

Bird could shoot he was slow as fuck and an average defender. Durant is more like bird.
Lebron would run circles around Bird. Lebron's fist step would have broken Larry's ankles.

People are so fucked up. Back up posts with FACTS and not fiction.

No one has the stats Lebron has but Jordan.

 Bird would have worked Lebron over. Talk about breaking an ankle.....that's what Jordan would have done with Lebron "soft" James.

I guess I may have slightly mis-spoken....

Not sure what would have happened if Bird played in the West. I will say that Magic and Company prospered greatly in the west b/c there was no competition. So I guess what I meant was more like, what if the Celtics were in the West and Lakers were in the East....Celtics would have made the finals 8+ times in the 80s....like the Lakers did. Celtics had to go through Sixers and Pistons. Lakers went though....Rockets...Mavericks....give me a break...how did Lakers not go to finals all 10 years lol

Nice try on Kobe comparison. Kobe is way better than LeBron and doesn't get half the calls. LeBron was brought into the league with a crown on his head and has just finally learned how to shoot....he gets more calls than Jordan and Shaq in their prime combined. I hate seeing him get a steal b/c all he does is run to the goal knowing he's going to the line. Just plow into someone and throw it up...what a joke.

well.....considering the Celtics lost to the sixers twice, the pistons twice and lakers twice im not sure how they'd have won many more than the 3 titles they did win coming from the east (they beat Houston twice).

they switch conf and nothing changes as they each had multiple hall of famers and still would be the best team in each conf. with the lakers still being the better team

Not so fast my friend. THe defense today vs. what Michael went up against bares no comparison. THe bad boys of Detriot put the hammer down and no fouls were called. Not today, there are no free paths to the basket where defenders simply step aside...AKA..matador defense. LB has the big three, MJ had Scottie.

Please don't compare Lebron to Jordan. Who cares that that he's won 2 championships. Why don't we talk about Lebron needing to go to a team with 2 All Star/franchise type players to win them in the weak ass East.

Jordan did it with so much less around him. He was surrounded by guys like Will Perdue, Bill Cartwright, Stacey King, Horace Grant, Craig Hodges, Luc Longley, John Paxon, B.J. Armstrong, Randy Brown and so on. Pippen was good, but he was nothing without Jordan. Wade and Bosh could win championships, and did, without Lebron.......

Jordan turned mediocre players into champions. He was double and triple teamed every night and still had the best numbers of any player ever. I'm sorry. There's no comparison.
