It didnt affect me directly, but my 2 uncles died at his hands..... one executed/one went missing. They were teens, maybe early 20s at time of death. I wasnt born until '73, nearly 15 years later.

Clearly, the castro deal hit home with my family. But, it affected no one like it did my mom.......Castro passing made for an extremely emotional day for her. She was a little girl(about 7 or 8) when the life she knew was suddenly taken away. Friends and relatives jailed, tortured or worse. House in city gone. Farm gone. Separated from her dad for years, and her mom for months. It wall worked out for her, and she rarely talks about it, but that type of trauma stays with you...
