I know they have a bad playoff history, but they are only -130 in the Series. I am not a big Series player but there is too much value in this line for me to pass up. Also, with a line this small, you will usually have an opportunity to get you money back if is not looking good.

I think they handle Columbus and probably lose to the Penguins yet once again. Don't watch a lot of regular season hockey but I love the playoffs.

Not looking good when you lose your first two games at home, but as they say it ain't over until it is over. The Jackets still have to win two more games, after all 2 games won does not mean you won the series.

It is just the same old Caps. It is really hard to believe they are this bad in the playoffs. They could be the worst playoff franchise ever, based on the talent they have versus how far they advanced. Will see how game 3 goes before I start chasing but it does not look good.

Going to ride all these overs with the Ov 5.5 in the Caps game tonight. They have to be very aggressive so game should be similar to first two.

Overs are the move
They WILL let them score and if the get PP's they will score too. CBJ doesn't seem to be too disciplined either.
They are done.
Hots is a head case as well.

Thanks Kick!

Caps were simply the better team so the price was right. CBJ just didn't have the depth to win.

Now, the Caps once again play the Penguins. Caps have home ice but Penguins should be favored given the history of these two teams in the playoffs. I will be on the Penguins no matter what the price. Caps will have to prove they can finally get through this round against their playoff nemesis.

Penguins -120 for the Series. I just hit this rather hard. Great price since Caps have home ice, so I see lots of value in this line.

Penguins have won 7 straight playoff series against the Caps and 9 out of the last 10. The Caps have not advanced to the Conference Finals since 1998 when they got swept in the Cup. That is more than enough for me to make a bet at -120. Yes, the Penguins are a little banged up but the NHL gives all of these teams a huge break by giving them too much time off between series. Yes, the Capitals are certainly due. But, I am willing to pay to see them actually win a series against Pittsburgh (and yes, I want them to win!)

Think Nashville in regulation is the play today. If they lose this game they are in serious trouble.

Going to just ride my Penguins big series bet for now after huge game one win. Easy to think Caps may rebound, but I think the Game 1 loss has already doomed this team once again. All the pressure is on them. I think the Pens win again today, but I will just watch.

Played that last game Bert. It is -160 today and I am not playing it.

Need a Pitt win for my Series bet, but at this point I want the Caps to win. I am sick of the Pens whining like a bunch of pussies. The Wilson suspension is a complete joke by the NHL. Simply trying to appease people since it got so much attention in the playoffs. If his jaw is not broken, there is no suspension which is complete BS.

Will be very interesting to see how Caps react tonight. I think this is going to be one hell of a hockey game!!

I'm amazed at this point of view. The only evidence you need that it was a hit to the head is the fact that ZAR's jaw was broken.

ZAR is a good kid, does a good bit of charity work, is visible at Children's hospital, etc..., he didn't deserve to have his head taken off by Trashcan Tom who is known predator. The suspension IS a joke, charges should be filed against a guy like that. Tom Wilson represents everything that is wrong with the game.

Murray gets a skate pulled, goal allowed.
Wilson takes a headshot to Domoulin, no problem.
Wilson slew-foots Maatta that leads to an odd man rush that leads to the winning goal, good hockey play.
Pens lose a goal that was clearly in the net and it's because of some mysterious angle nobody has ever heard of.
TJ Socchi leaves his feet to hit Letang after the game is decided, it's just passion.

None of the Pens say much about these things, they just play through it. The Caps lose a game and it's "FUCK THIS LEAGUE".

If this goes 7 games Trashcan Tom will get a hero's welcome in DC returning from his third suspension this year. Not much more needs known about Caps fans.

Yet, the Pens get all the calls in the eyes of the Caps fans. I just don't get it.

The NHL is trying to remove those hits from the game.
The injury has everything to do with the suspension.
No call on the ice. Got a lot of shoulder there too.
I hope we see the top line reunited for a bit tonight

Could not disagree with you more Penguinfan. If you actually think Wilson should be arrested and out of the league, you simply do not understand the game. I get it from a fans perspective, but this is a complete and total overreaction to a player getting hurt. Its hockey, it should be physical and people get hurt. If he does not turn his head he does not break his jaw. Oh, and even five years ago, someone would have actually stepped up and fought Wilson. I find it impossible to believe that not one player stood up for him.

I hate what the NHL is doing to the game, just like I hate what the NFL is doing. Hockey is a physical sport, not a finesse game. Ask any ex-player what they think of that hit. I do not see this as the game evolving, I see it as ruining the actual game. You can think what you want of Wilson but he was a first round draft pick, plays on the top line, had 32 points this year and 8 in the playoffs, kills penalties and hustles more than anyone on the team. He is a hockey player and the league needs more players like him. The Pens could use some more muscle.

Sorry, but I am old school and we have to stop taking the physicality out of sports. Yes, its dangerous but they are paid handsomely to accept these risks. If you do not like it, do not play. Now they are trying to outlaw youth football everywhere, which is just completely ridiculous to me.

I respect your opinion, but just do not agree. We will see how it plays out on the ice. I have a lot on money on the Pens for the series, so I will sit back and watch (and I will not be disappointed if they lose, but given the Caps history I still like my bet).

Oh, and even five years ago, someone would have actually stepped up and fought Wilson. I find it impossible to believe that not one player stood up for him.

So you know, Oleksiak challenged him four different times the remainder of the game, the tough guy you love so much backed down from the fight each time choosing to instead spend his time laughing at an injured player.

Multiple reports say Wilson kept ZAR's glove as a trophy. Guy is a scumbag, sorry.

You are right, we disagree. I've always preferred a speed and skill game over trying to win a war of attrition. I guess when you are the lesser skilled team you have to play the cards you have. I prefer watching the most skilled players in the world play on the highest level for the most coveted trophy in sports. If you prefer headshots and injuries then maybe switch to MMA.

Wilson could have delivered the same blow, stayed low and went at ZAR's core and likely taken him out cleanly and probably breaking a few ribs. Wilson, who again has a history of headshots, instead went high when he didn't have to.

Wilson is not the victim here. It's his third suspension this year and his third dangerous hit in the playoffs alone. None of that is coincidence. If you think he is talented enough to play on the first line then he should use his skill, not his lack of respect for fellow players.

I understand the Caps are desperate for a win against the hated Pens and as such their fans will take it anyway they can get it, the way Wilson plays is just not something to be proud of, old school or not.

Enough, like arguing with a Trump supporter, there is no objectivity. I am not a Wilson fan at all nor am I that big of a Capitals fan. I am just making a point about the current state of the game. You don't like it so be it, start a thread about how wonderful and perfect the Penguins are in happy Penguin land where no one hits anyone.

I wouldn't have a four figure bet on the Pens to win the Series if I loved Wilson and the Caps.

I think Nashville is a good play tonight.

So lets see if Guentzel gets suspended for a game. The NHL set the standard so lets see if they live by it after a cheap head shot on Carlson at the end of the game. I doubt it, since they definitely want a game 7.

This is the reason I typically do not like series bets. Now I am backed into a corner. Can't double up on Pitt in game 6 even though I definitely think this goes 7 games. Now I have to simply ride it out or try to cut the losses.

I think I will ride it out for now as I do not see the Pens losing game 6, especially if either Backstrom and/or Carlson is out. If either is out, Pitt will be a big favorite at home. I can then decide how to play game 7.

Think the overs may continue today.

By this logic, let's compare the Guentzel hit to the hit by Wilson on Doumolin. If that's the standard then Jake does't even get a second look.

Otherwise, if you have a ticket on the Pens to win the series why couldn't you buy out of it at this point? The Pens will be a heavy favorite and are playing lazy hockey along with low IQ hockey. Caps could certainly win in Pittsburgh Monday night and you'll get them at a good price.

It is a tough call for me since I do think the Pens will win game 6, but -200/+170 is a ridiculous line in my opinion based on how the series has been played so far. Will have to think about it some more.
