Why do u prefer this now over blockchain/circle ?

Interested to discuss this method a little deeper...

I remember the Neteller debacle and how many lost $.

I just want to avoid circle and coinbase and transfers to and from my bank as much as possible. Fortunately I have tripled my money from betting in the last couple months and my money is sitting in blockchain. I never heard of blockchain banning anybody but I guess that can happen.

I'm learning right along with you guys.

Keep it going guys and you guys out there that aren't sure, ask away.

For purposes of avoiding circle from finding out, I'm assuming you are sending from circle/coinbase ---> your blockchain ---> betagame blockchain.

Then for withdrawals, betagame sends directly to your blockchain, and you can then send from your blockchain to the BTC Debit card and then cash out.

Correct?

That's my plan exactly.

That debit card allows $750 per ATM withdrawal but up to 3k/day. So you can hit 4 ATMs up- would be something like 12$ in fees for 3k....pretty damn good if you ask me.

You all need to get on this. This is about as secure/discreet as you can get, and assuming the books will send you a BTC withdrawal within an hour or two from request, you can literally have cash in hand from an offshore book within minutes. :toast::toast:

AND, I'm thinking that the books can send directly to the debit card but will find out for sure once I get back and put it to use.

I am very curious about the daily limits on the this BitCard Visa.

I think using blockchain/circle for only withdrawals is the safe way to go.

Jack once you get this Visa and use it please report back.

It's insane - the hoops we have to jump thru to get our own money !

Interesting the only way to pay for the BitPay Visa is to pay the $9.95 via bitcoin ?

It's pretty clearly spelled out on the FAQ. 3k daily limit. 750$ daily limit per ATM. So you can hit 4 different ATMs in a day if you wanted to pull 3k out.

a little worried that they will find a way to shut it down.

Then you won't use it anymore.

I'm thinking more and more will be popping up.

They already have bitcoin ATM's that are very easy to use but it's hard finding one close enough for convenience. Maybe down your way they are more available. And I'm fine without it but think it will be more handy. I'll keep you posted and will use in 2 weeks when I get back home.

Scott,

The key here is that unlike Neteller, don't plan on ever keeping money on this card. It's simply a vehicle to withdraw from the books and then cash out within the hour. If it gets shut down in the time frame between when a book loads your card and you are driving to the ATM to cash out- well, that's such a small chance it's just not going to happen. So the money is either going to be stored/saved in your book, in your blockchain wallet, or in your hand in the form of cash. I personally wouldn't leave any cash on this debit card. Request what you want to physically have in cash and withdraw right away. The card balance should always be kept at zero IMO- it's just a means to withdraw.

Sort of how the bitcoin was just a means to transfer money from your bank to the book. Fluctuations in bitcoin price (or the visa card being shut down) don't come into play because the money is only in the form of the BTC (or on the visa) for a very, very short window of time. This is why this is such a promising thing.

So I activated my bitpay card today and to test it out I sent $200 from blockchain to the card. $200 sent $199.23 received. Went to an ATM and took out $180 in cash, no problems. Boom! Withdrawals from ATM have to be in $20 increments. $2.50 ATM fee. I know how I am getting my cash for now on.

Consider it doubly-confirmed.

I had Bovada send the payout directly to the card and that worked without any issues. ATM withdrawal was no problem as well.

Now there's just the minor issue of actually winning money regularly so I can take advantage . . .
