Worm and his “dormmates”. He was gayer than kneifl doing a 5-way at the Styx concert. I think he still owes Jack like $3,200

As I sat at the poker table in El Paso, Texas, watching basketball games on the television, a group of young men began boasting about their basketball skills. They claimed that they could have easily made an open three-point shot in the recent Texas/Kansas game. I couldn't help but chuckle at their naive bravado.

In response, I challenged their claims, stating that they couldn't perform under pressure in front of a crowd. As I expected, the young men fired back with insults, proclaiming that they could easily defeat me in a basketball shooting contest.

Their taunts were like music to my ears, and I quickly seized the opportunity to make a wager. I proposed a challenge: 50 shots per person, taken five at a time, with a bet of $125 from one young man and $200 from the other.

Though I hadn't played basketball seriously since 1997, when I won the Michael Cooper long-distance shootout at the Albuquerque State Fairgrounds, I was confident in my abilities. After all, I had made enough money playing games of horse, pool, and darts in college to buy beer on the weekends.

The next day, I headed to the gym with my wife to practice shooting long distance. I was sure that the young men wouldn't be able to make more than 25% of their shots. As the clock ticked down to the scheduled match time, one of the guys texted me to let me know that he had rented out the gym and even arranged for an announcer to cover the event.

Though I was skeptical about the odds being given by a local bookmaker who had never seen us shoot, I encouraged my wife to place a bet on me with the extra ten dimes I had given her. Despite her initial hesitation, she eventually agreed.

As the match began, I quickly took the lead, sinking shot after shot with ease. The young men struggled to keep up, missing most of their shots. By the end of the contest, I emerged victorious, and the crowd erupted in cheers.

Afterwards, the young men graciously paid up their bets, and we all donated a couple of hundred dollars to the youth in the community. As we left the gym, my wife turned to me and exclaimed, "I can't believe you did it! You're a natural!" I simply smiled, knowing that I had proved myself yet again.

Sincerely,
