I'm not the biggest stickler out on the course by any means... I mean, if you want to move a leaf or twig out from under your ball in the rough, I really have no problem, but I never understood those who cheated with counting strokes. How can you get better if you don't honestly keep track of your score and know what to shoot for the next time out? A handicap in golf is the equalizer so people of varying skills can play with each other and you can never figure that out if you aren't honest with yourself and your true abilities. It's all about getting better if you ask me and you can't do that if you are shaving off any strokes at all!

I am a stickler for people that reposition their ball after every shot.

i'm horrible and have shot in the 110 range with people here, but I don't practice, have never taken a lesson, and take pride in the ability to lose a ball 6 fairways over.

Believe me when I say I have several friends who forget... forget... I'll say it again, forget they drove it in the water twice on the tee and say Par.

But at the end of the day, it's all about the 19th hole. :toast:

I do play 10x better when money is on the line and I'm visiualizing my shots, spine angle, and tempo.

I could shoot an 85 if I focused... But, I don't find that very fun and I get frustrated (see Dunclock) :mj07:

First of all, is it possible to golf without betting??? And if no money was on the line, i would be golfing for the fun of it....... the outdoors, the sun, the beer (and cartgirl) and would care less what the cheater said he got. As my history teacher said, if you cheat you're only cheating yourself. Or was that my sex-ed teacher.

Now if he was riding my balls at the 19th hole about how much better he was than me and how he owns me bla bla bla, then that would be a different story.

Agree with most here, golf is not for cheaters.Play fair, dont cheat. The good kharma will help your score alot more than a foot wedge will.

Dun - you play golf with the seriousness of a jungle Tiger hunting prey.

I play golf like Chris Farley tries to sell McCallahan brake pads.

Big difference.

not since I retired ... cool as the other side of the pillow :0008

but there is no "drop" on an out of bounds ball... it is replay from the last position thus making it stroke and distance or TWO shots:scared

I once made a hole in one but I had dead shanked the first shot out of bounds so it ended up being a good par :SIB
