Bush goes to DFW, Iran goes nuclear, Israel goes looking for an ally, the Treasury goes cap-in-hand to China, Americans go looking for jobs...and Obama goes out for ice cream.

If you are making the case that Bush did nothing to stop Iran from going nuclear and created the largest deficit in world history you are correct on both counts. Not sure about the Israel comment.

I noticed that Bush was at the end of the line
and every troop member got his picture taken with him.

was this a photo opp of the third kind ?

why not just go there without all the hoopla and set up news , cameras, et al. ?

Bush had a chance to deal with Armadeenajacket and keep Iran from going nuke for many years.

What did he do ?

oh yeh I think he was on vacation when that part was being discussed.

A very good question that never gets asked. Those 2 countries hated each other and spent all of their military resources preparing for war against each other. Iran now has nothing to fear from Iraq and hence considers itself a "superpower" who can mess with anyone else. Iran will need to be dealt with by someone and its going to be nasty when it happens as they can disrupt the oil supply real easy. The policies of Bush and Obama have been identical except for tough words that Bush people used but never backed it up. Neither administration has had one iota of success and Bush destroyed thier only credible enemy. Israel could nuke them but that would probably start World War 3.

...............................................................

The reason the policys have been identical is that we are dealing with total nutcases. They havnt changed since the hostage crisis. Everything in Iran is done for advantage.

Got to hand it to Obama for getting the toughest sanctions Iran has ever had to deal with. Not that Iran gives two shits. They only want the nuke and what they think it will do for them in the worlds eyes of respect and power. He also got Russia and China to at least step to the table over the Iran sanctions.

It would be somewhat ironic to nuke another country in a effort to stop them from getting nukes.

That just cannot be rationalized.

I doubt Isreal would have to worry about getting nuked by Iran anyway. They have too many muslims that live there and the surrounding area.
There is also one of the most important religious muslim places in the world in Israel.

No way we could stop this once it got started with Iran. It would be a disaster.

Yeah, I love all this talk about how Iran is such a huge threat to the world. It sounds just like all the talk of weapons of mass destruction leading up to the invasion of Iraq. Did we learn nothing from the mistakes of the Bush Administration? All this talk of Iran nuking Israel or Israel nuking Iran is complete bullshit. It's all just another smokescreen the neoconservatives are creating to try to justify getting the U.S. bogged down in yet another war in the Middle East. It never ends with these evil bastards. Iran poses no more threat to the world than Iraq did 8 years ago.

It's all just talk Scotty. Saber rattling. Nothing more. We're the only country that's ever used a nuclear weapon on an enemy and anyone who thinks we'll ever do it again has boarded the Cuckoo Train for Looneyville.

Can we get a wager on this or are you just--:talk:

Why would you want to defend the economic policies of this buffoon. And btw, Obama may break his records but this spiral was started by Bozo Bush with his irresponsible economic theories. You can't conduct 2 major wars and give everyone a break on the home front. This economy is the result. Here's the proof to your goofy challenge:

U.S. budget deficit hits record $438 billion for year

WASHINGTON (AP) ? The federal budget deficit hit a new record in the just-completed 2008 budget year under the latest estimates from the Congressional Budget Office.
The record $438 billion shortfall for the budget year that ended last week is up from $162 billion posted last year. The previous record of $413 billion was posted in 2004.

CBO said Tuesday that with the economy in a slump, revenues dropped by almost 2%. Corporate income receipts dropped by $65 billion, or nearly 18%. At the same time, individual income tax revenues declined by 1.6%.

The deficit is virtually certain to balloon even higher next year as the government sorts out the financial crisis and taps a $700 billion Treasury fund to buy toxic mortgage-related securities.

The next president is likely to have to scale back campaign pledges as he inherits a likely deficit for 2009 exceeding $500 billion. But neither GOP standard-bearer John McCain nor Democratic nominee Barack has given much detail regarding what promises they won't be able to keep.

The latest figures for 2008 are somewhat of a surprise, registering more than $30 billion more than CBO's update issued just last month and almost $50 billion higher than what the White House predicted in July.

DTB suffers from economic amnesia, Roger. He also believes $Trillion wars and $700 Billion in tax cuts for the wealthy have no impact on the federal budget. It's all part of the alternate neoconservative reality he lives in.

Wasn't defending him Roger--just didn't see how anyone could make such a statement unless they been in a coma past 2 years--which time period your above rebuttal somehow ignores.

Not only did we not win but it may have been the most stupid move in America's history to remove Saddam. He was the only one who could keep Iran in check. And with the Russians now supporting Iran it is only going to get more difficult. Remind me again, why did we attack Iraq?
