no sour grapes as i had az. over ,parlay and both in2h but

18-186 vs. 10-77 (penalty yardage the past 2 super bowls)

holding and pi can be called anytime....somehow pitt avoided those calls at an amazing rate the past 2 super bowls

oh well, az now has the super bowl loser curse.....watch out for seattle or sf in that division.

wow....what game did uall watch??

when u arent as good as your opponent you are more likely to commit penalties.....common sense ....end of story.

cant think of one weak call pitt got in this game.

btw.....the holding call for a safety was weakest game deciding call ive ever seen....game over if they dont make that call.....no prob. if the hold was blatant but cmon hartwig got bullrushed and fell backwards.....technically harrison gets held just about every play if u want to bitch about calls..

i wouldnta called

i wouldnta called

roughing the passer on dockett---not really that bad--or malicious at full speed.

...though think the unessecary roughness on ike taylor was bull too. boldin had him arm-barred on the arz sideline--and all he did was shove his hands off of him--though the ariz sideline made it look worse

the parker goaline call was hard to figure either way(figurin very little to see either way)--though eventually a moot point

That was a hold.
Also saw a missed facemask early 4thQ on the sideline.

Also I think Harrison should have been tossed for throwing a punch.

I didn't think it was a lopsided called game though.

not for nuthin

not for nuthin

but how is it that an offensive player can stiff arm to the tune of essentially committing a facemask when trying to keep defender at bay--and if done correctly, disrupts momentum of oncoming defender--that would obvioulsy make harder to grasp, more likely to grab anything can reach...inevitably, a facemask?

i mean--s'not like you can allow facemasking for defenders getting stiff armed--as everyone would jus grab at the mask and take advantage off it-though i think is, maybe one of the more unfair non-rulings that exist.

dont get me wrong--i'm all for a great fore-arm shiver that ripples the oncoming defender--though not to the facemask--thats just unfair advantage i think

kegray...not saying it wasnt a hold on hartwig...just saying in that game situation....with the game on the line you dont call a hold on either team unless you blatantly tackle/hold someone....was a hold but think weak....that type of bullrush legs tangle fall over happpens alot and theres no-call more often than not....im sure you saw i think there was 2 holding calls on harrison....now those were perfect examples of blatant no-question holds....

Pitt played a clean game.... REFS did everything they could to help AZ in final 10 minl...... That hold in end zone for SAFETY was THE WORST call of the game.... I really started to wonder why the refs changed what I thought was one of the fairest called games in a long long time.... The last two times Pitt had the ball including the safety debaucle, the refs gave Pitt a chitload, (60% were justified), of penalities compared to the rest of the game.... AZ had a bunch more called on them, but they were doing something to get em called.... Without 'favortisim' to AZ at the end of the game to create a possible thriller of an ending, the game would have been PROBABLY, knelt out after 1 more 1st down; maybe they didnt even need that..... :142smilie

If either side had the right to complain and be 'right', it would be PITT....

If were talking about calls how did the refs miss the one where Warner gets hit and the refs call it a fumble and Warner takes his helmet off to plead his case?? The call gets overturned correctly but still doesnt change the fact he took his helmet off and there was no mention of it at all. They called it on Farrior at the end of the game granted it didnt matter but if it is a penalty then why wasnt it a penalty on Warner.

You just won the Super Bowl -- you're really complaining about a non call over a helmet? Who cares, and congrats.

Why is it anytime Pittsburgh wins a big game or championship that everyone feels the need to bitch and whine about the refs? There's hundreds of bad calls all year long, deal with it.

I heard a sportstalk radio show in Philly talk about how lucky the Steelers were to play against 2 weak NFC West teams for their championships too. Unbelievable how people try to tarnish a world championship because of their biased against Pittsburgh. Wow...

maybe because of the 2-1 discrepency in flags thrown or 2.5-1 discrepency in penalty yardage in the last 2 super bowls.....many head scratching calls at questionable times in the game which most seemed to go for pitt in both games.

hey, i won with pitt 3 years ago and with az yest (and got the over + parlay with that last td by pitt so was fairly happy they scored although ot would have been fun) so i'm not some sore loser, just an observer.
