"All that garbage about rapes in Superdome were completely made up by some fkn neocon blog. They fed ingorant fvks what they wanted to hear."
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Actually Smurph they were reported by all major newspaper/cable news incorrectly--however the blogs that continued to run with them were the liberal blogs in effort to point out no one cared about these folk--no one had plan for them ect.

Do a search on (Katrina-superdome-rapes) and you will see where I'm coming from with the Dailykos being the biggest aggressor. The only conservative blog I found on 1st page of search was by Michele Milikin(spl) under article "Myths of Katrina" that pointed in particular how incorrect these reports were.

With that being said believe there was enough blame to go around for everyone one. Both parties quilty of fuzzy math.

Would I rebuild N.O--probably but not areas under sea level. Only takes one terrorist with underwater gear and bomb to do instant replay and I doubt Ins co's will cover this area in future (if they are prudent) which puts expense on tax payor.

Yeah, it's below sea level. But that hasn't stopped it from existing and thriving for over 300 years. Puny little Holland has no problem investing in a levee system that can protect their country from well well over Cat 5 storm surges. That embarassing levee system was breeched by Cat 1 flooding of Lake Ponchartrain.

Pretty amazing,I recall watching about Holland's levee system on the discovery channel,Take a look.......

Let's all be honest. NO is one of the filthiest, crime ridden, racially stressed cities in the US. 90% of the city pre-Katrina was a slum and smelled like a sewer. Why would you rebuild the city? Just so another hurricane can come? Relocate the city to higher ground is the only viable alternative. The whole city is a SEWER. I have been there 4 times and I will never go back. Did I mention it is also the most CORRUPT city in the US too?

I hope you are smarter than you sound. NO is a city in America. That's in the USA if you can't find it on a map. It's easy to say relocate a city, if it's not your city and your home. Remember when you relocate a city you are talking about PEOPLE. Generations of families have worked hard and have past on their land to their families in this city. Our Government owes the city and the people of NO. At least they should do what they have been paid to do. Fix the levee's. The levee system that was built was a fraud. ASK the Army Corp of Engineers. Are you stupid ? Why did it take a 2nd, 3rd and 4th trip for you to see the light ? Where would you like to relocate this city ? How about your city ? We'll just relocate you .

i'm curious as to why you would post something like this ?

all it does is agitate people.

i've been to n.o. a few times & found it to be an interesting city, eventhough i had a run-in with a local there once.

i thought the food & the nightlife were exceptional.

i am very surprised that they re-elected nagin to another term as mayor...but that's their business.

i'm probably as conservative as anyone, but to dog out N.O. like that is complete bs. no matter what it is an American city.i for one am really pissed that our country has not done more to help them. i dont give a shit if they are poor & black maybe they need it more than the rest of the country. i'm betting the people talking smack have parts of their city that arent too appealing. i've spent alot of time in NO and it is awesome. great food, partying, and PEOPLE. the history is amazing also.

It's funny, I go to NO atleasat once a year if not more. It's a great weekend getaway from Dallas and I enjoy music and the drinks. It has its faults just like any other city but it has things that no other city in the US can offer.

I know where you're coming from but I think you're totally wrong. If you don't like the place, stay the F out. It's not for everyone but neither is Vegas or DC or Detroit.

Is it fair to the people from NO not to re build the city. It's not their fault that their gov't didn't build the levee correctly? Oh wait, I'm sure you think it is.

I've been going to NO since I was a kid with my family. My wife and I are next going in December. I can't wait to sit back, drink a hurricane and listen to good music and eat good food.
