no one!

there were NO good plays last night and whoever won, does not deserve to be 'patted' on the back for "nice call".

Anyone who played Arizona on the ML this past weekend, deserves major kudos. Anyone who played last nights game needs to be reminded they are not a serious handicapper but more like a compulsive gambler, including myself.

Whatever tickets you cashed last night, thank fickle fate for. Whatever tickets you 'ripped' up last night, once again thank fickle fate (and maybe the panzy ass refs)

Someone please slap me next time I play an ugly monday nighter like last night again.......

no 774 yrds of total offense is what you left out of your handicapping.

only 99yrds of it rushing, when both QBs throw well over 300yds id say the over has a chance. some people new it was going to be a shoot out, we didnt, they made a good wager...

The returned touchdown and successful two point conversion after the sack of Farve doomed the under, forcing Gbay to score twice, not once, to catch up.In spite of the yards allowed,it was 13-7(and a tainted 7 at that) with 4 minutes to go in the third Qtr before that.Had he just sacked him for a loss.....Congrats to the winners.Bring on Sundays card...it looks so good that I've already forgotten about last night.

On the course!
Christ, Phoenix....that is absolutely absurd!

You can pick every game to pieces, and say that!

I can't think of too many games that go "as planned" by Joe Bettor. Sure, you have to say, "Man, I got away with one!" as a Packer bettor last night, I'll agree all day on that.

But every game has a turnover, a bad call, a bad decision, a missed this, a missed that, a bad kick, a bad punt.....and so on.

EVERY GAME!!!!

Some will stand out, and some will flicker and fade, but they are there all of the time.

You tell me how many times you cap a game "dead balls on"? I can recall about 10 in 20 years! Just like you saw tomorrow's paper, today......it is rare.

I handicapped the Packers last night, because I feel they are better than Jacksonville. I felt they were much better than 3' points. I factored in the fact that Favre will be a goof in the first half. I factored in the fact that Faver could also tear these guys appart. I factored GB with a bettor defense, thus, a better chance to keep the Jags off of the board. You know what? All of these things happened!

I didn't figure on the Packers missing a fg, and having another blocked.....Favre getting stripped, and having it run back for a score.......A terrible call on an interception that was overturned...etc.

So, over all, you need luck to be on your side to win at this game. I think most of us realize that. You handicap a game, and you roll the dice. Fate will determine who gets paid sometimes.

How you can say.......

Anyone who played last nights game needs to be reminded they are not a serious handicapper but more like a compulsive gambler, including myself.

.....is beyond me.

So, if the game end with GB scoring on every drive, and shutting down the Jags, you are a hero for siding with the Pack? "Great job!" "Nice call"

Or if Jax backers get that int, and hold the Pack in the 3rd qtr, they are great cappers?

If you doubt your skills as a capper based on last night's game, so be it. But, don't slap the rest of the forum in the face by saying they had no business wagering on this game, based on how you feel it ended.

That is beyond sour grapes.....it is ridiculous.

yyz,

you are reading way too much into what i am saying. i am mostly reminding myself of principles that the gambler in me breaks from time to time and I end up paying for it. Sour grapes, maybe with myself, but no one else. I even called my play a sucker play before making it...so in essence i am jabbing no one but myself!

There are two types of people who make wagers. handicappers and gamblers. some of each win, some of each lose. every one of my sharp guys sat out last night. to me they are handicappers. been doing this for a lot longer than me and know when to lay off a game. a road favorite of 3, 3.5 points is a sucker bet, plain and simple, almost every time. dispute that fact with me all you want, but it is. handicappers make there living playing solid plays and staying away from sucker bets.

I must admit I am shocked by your reply. Especially since you seem to be trying to turn yourself from a gambler into a handicapper. It is a long process and some may never succeed. I look at myself today versus a couple of years ago and all I know is I kept paying the man then and actually get to see a little green nowadays.

Anyways you won your play so I guess that's all that matters.

and I can remember at least 10 games this year that I capped 'dead on' where the dog lead wire to wire. and many were I was wrong dead on, and then others were I got lucky late or screwed late. yeah thats all part of the game. all i am saying is there are some games that should not be played. will they be? you bet! otherwise the books would all get knocked out of business.....

i doubt my disipline as a capper after last night a lot more than my skills. but it is a continuous learning curve and i am always willing to learn in order to win in the long run...even if who i learn from is myself.

In the end, when it's all over, that's ALL that really matters.

BTW - I agree 100% with yyz! There were a lot of "handicappers" on this site, who I consider to be pretty sharp, that had a play on this game. Just because someone made a wager on this game does NOT give you the right to call them gamblers instead of handicappers. C'mon, get over it!

Hey yyz, congrats on the nice win. Keep those GB prognostications coming

whatever! I'll just keep my mouth shut from now on then. Not once did I 'bash' anyone here and kept saying that I am mostly reminding myself of a principle I have tried to embrace. Yeah a lot of good handicappers here were playing the game last night and most of em had Jax. so? Most of the same 'players' have a play every single day. Are they gamblers or handicappers? I'm sure they will all say handicappers. I'm not disagreeing. I could really care less at the end of the day. Think what you want, play what you want. I'm not here to stop you. In fact I'll quietly get off your stage and stop bothering people with what i feel may be valuable insight.

PEACE

Nobody ever suggested that you keep your mouth shut! Sheesh! I only offered an opinion different than you own and you seem to get bent out of shape. If you actually go back and read your posts you will see that you imply that anyone who made a wager on last nights game was NOT a "handicapper". I simply offered a differing veiw and at the same time agreed with what a fellow poster had typed. Actually, I was under the impression that this was a place that differing opinions could be debated in a mature manner. Once again, I guess I was wrong. And oh yeah, the purpose of my post was to try and help people out as well. Good luck in the future and don't take an opinion that happens to differ from your own so seriously. Instead, maybe try strengthening your position by facts and not by employing the ole "I'm gonna take my ball and go home" because nobody agrees with me angle.

I'm a little bent out of shape that my opinion is called out as being completely obsurd. I never stated playing the game means you are not a handicapper, but that maybe you are not as serious of one as you think. With 'you' really being me here. To then be told by someone who professes they are trying to become a more serious handicapper, yeah that ticks me off a little.

there is some 'handicapper' and some 'gambler' in all of us. YOU need to decide which part you want more prevalent. I will continue to strive to be a better 'handicapper', called out in what I think or not. Just don't bash me for having an opinion.

Uhmmm, please correct me if I'm wrong, but....ahhh nevermind, I think you can figure out that you are now talking in circles. I will be sure to stay out of your threads from now on seeing as how differing opinions are obviously NOT welcome. Not a problem for me at all.

Good luck to you in the future and I wish you nothing but the best!

I stated an opinion. Differing opinions are always welcome. Here though, I got bashed by yyz for doing so. Does not seem like a call for an amicable debate to me. I never said I am right, but I guess questioning those that always are right is wrong in and of itself.....lol at the ludicrousy of this.

you'll be deeply missed in my threads barfly. best of luck to you in the future as well
