If I had to take a side , I would go with Cotto to win or by decision.

These are two tough fighters that will be content to play alot of defense. I do not think they are going to risk slugging it out early. They start out carefully. And before we know it .

ROUND 10 !

The turmoil taking place in Cotto's corner at the moment.

Cotto's uncle, Evangelista, was involved in a fist fight in their native Puerto Rico, prompting Miguel to promote his nutritionist to a training position for this event. Can Miguel really handle the preparation essentially on his own? Surely, Joshua Clottey is a bit too complicated for a nutritionist!

In a tough fight like this a nutrionist :142smilie

There won't be much advise coming out of Cotto;s

corner.

Which is a good thing for the over 9.5 rounds

The Nutritionist

His name is Joe Santiago. He has been working with the Cotto family for the past 14-15 years.

He is known as the guy in charge of most of the training anyway as Evangelista takes care of the whole gym.

He was also in charge of the nutrition and physical training of Miguel until they hired the south african guy.

Risk is why I gamble

If I cannot feel the risk I don't enjoy watching the fight.

I feel the risk . The Risk feels good.

I smell money and it smells green !

you know by now that I play alot of chalk and alot of big dog plays also.

I have spent two weeks watching differant fights from these two combatants and looking at all angles of potential wagers.

The conclusion I have come to is that there is a 90% chance of this fight going over the total
of 9.5 rounds

I like my chances here.

This fight is going to be a test of wills between both men, neither is a one punch knockout artist, so the battle will prove to be mental in as much as it is physical. Simply put, this will be a test of who has the ability to stay focused and execute there game plan the best. Both will look to capitalize on the others mistakes, so it is going to be a long entertaining night, because neither has a history of making many mistakes in a bout. :00hour

Cotto has the ability to box from the outside very effectively and he has proven that against his last four opponents, but he will need to do more than that in this fight, he is going to have to go back to his ?Roots? and utilize what had become his ?Signature Attack? the right left to the body, and do so early in this fight. Clottey is generally a slow starter with a ?Ear Muff / Elbows-in-Tight? style of defense early in fights. :0corn

He has deceivingly fast hands especially his straight right hand and left hook. Cotto will have ample opportunity to attack the body around the in-tight elbows of Clottey and with his good lateral movement should be able to avoid the ?Methodical? type of attack Clottey will bring early in the fight. With that said, Clottey does have another side to his game, and when he chooses to use it, he can dramatically change the tempo of a fight.

This is, his ability to box from the outside, and the ability to do so in very effective fashion. He has shown glimpses of fighting out of the ?Shell?, rolling and countering off the right shoulder, and the speed to double and even triple his left hook effectively to the head and body of his opponents. If that doesn?t get you excited about what this fight has the potential of becoming, I don?t know what will. But for the true ?Boxing Enthusiast? this world title bout should provide a ?Vagarious Sortie?, one that only two ?Elite? world class athletes at this stage in there careers could provide,,, a good old fashion ?Fist Fight? on a world class level.

Clottey has arguably the best chin in the welterweight business. If there's one guy that should feel comfortable getting a little closer, it should be him. Clottey will need to keep Cotto on his back foot and close to the ropes at all times. Another thing Margarito showed us is that Cotto is highly susceptible to the uppercut. Clottey has a strong penchant for throwing it while in close, and if he can land to the ribs and follow it up with a few of those, the dynamics of the fight can change FAST! The main keys to victory for Clottey will be to stay active, keep his hands moving, and keep Cotto going backwards. If he can execute that plan effectively for 12 rounds, he can very well seal the deal
