It's not so much the playing soft bit that gets me...It's fine...4 minutes left, up by 13...run it. Fine by me...
...It's then the inexplicable pass call on a 2nd and 7.

wtf??

....Sure, throw it on 3rd and longish if you really want to...but once you start down that road, why suddenly take a 90 dg turn into the fast lane??

It really is quite sad when you think that over half the people here seem to be better thinkers of football fundamentals than some coaches getting paid millions.
Sad, or just plain weird?

The other side of the coin is that Dallas didn't play squat all night. They were getting dominated at the line of scrimmage which hasn't happened to them all year long.

Finally they decided to play ball and the rest is history. Dallas shouldn't have even put themsevles in that situation of being down in the first place but were flat footed all game.

Eagles didn't get one sack on Bledsoe in week 5. Dallas was the superior talent, they just didn't show it until the end.

I actually agree with that, dottom.

I think Dallas were the better team...A few throws throughout the game were only inches away from being 40+ yard (maybe TD) passes.
ANd I definately agree that they spent WAY too much time trying to run the ball, long after it was clear that it wasn't going to happen.

But, having said all that....Teams shouldn't lose 13 up with 3 minutes left.
Poor coaching...poor decisions by a QB....and a matter of 2 yards for the first down with 4 minutes to play! :cursin:

i don't think Reid knows simple math they should of gone for it on 4th and goal making it a 3 possession game at 17 instead of 2. At least if you don't make it you still put the boys at their own 10 or less. And at the 2nd and 7 that play call for the pass made no sense, if williams wasn't there and brown made the catch he would of been pushed OB stoppign the clock ! Next time left McNabb's mom do the play calling.

The bottom line is maybe they would not have felt the need to throw if they were still up 13. They let them move the ball in a minute and a half when they couldn't do it all night. Why? Keep pressuring make them make a play, don't give them the opportunity to make that pick for a score happen.
