Well the local sports stories should be interesting this week - I'm a Packer season ticket holder (this was a Milwaukee game - they always get the 2nd & 5th home games - glad i didn't have to suffer through this one I guess)...I have no plays on this game or anything - but this is what I was afraid of....Packer fans around here near GB go back and forth so much - first they wanted Favre back, then slammed Thompson for chasing him out, last 2 weeks you'd think Rodgers was inducted into the Hall of Fame - I told people that this team and Rodgers has a lot to prove and this game would give a little indication about what they can do against what I feel (and still do) is the best team right now in the NFL - the Cowboys.

There is alot of work this Packer ball club needs to do - and from what I've seen from the start - they look like a team playing not to lose instead of to win. Sure they beat the Vikings and Lions - we've seen that those are not playoff calibur teams (still not buying into Minnesota - they will not be a playoff team)...but both games could have been lost. McCarthy's big weakness in my opinion is he is too conservative - this had to be a game where they were aggressive and approached it that they needed to score every possession. I didn't see the fire out of this offense (and not even close for the defense). Dallas almost looks like they have sleep walked through this game on offense..anyways this Packer team has alot of work to do - I still believe they are good and have potential - but they need some sort of swagger - offense just looks flat. Running game still hasn't looked good in any game. Grant gets the big money and has struggled (i know he has a hammy injury - but still not the same fire we saw out of him last year)...

I do think these teams may meet again later in the year (playoff time) - however Green Bay needs to make some major adjustments. I was afraid this was how this game was going to turn out - and I will often bet for or against the Packers if I feel it's the right side - just couldn't get myself to take Dallas though - I had high hopes, but in the end this result is not surprising, and shouldn't be surprising to anyone.

I don't think there will be many times this year a person would consider betting on Dallas foolish - when it's all said and done they are going to have a nice ATS record, because this team I feel will have the best record in the league. They could have scored 40+ tonight against the Packers defense if they wanted to. I guess they still could.

One last note -this team put up 38 against Philly last week - I saw alot of the Philly/Pitt game today - and I think if you saw the Philly D and how tough they can play - it puts into perspective how dangerous this Dallas team can be. I'd be careful betting against this Dallas team this season.

Packers have an extremely tough test next week at Tampa Bay. I'll be interested to see how the Packers respond next week. Should be a very tough road test...if this team goes to 2-2 to end September, it will be very interesting to see how much love Rodgers is getting...

Congrats to Dallas backers - it looked like one of those "too easy" lines - but the reality is, Dallas is the superior team - at least at this stage of the season...I'm viewing it as 1 loss, and hopefully a learning experience. Enjoy your night...

Well said SAVE IT, always like seeing your post as you bring a down to earth approach to alot of this stuff. I did back Dallas but I am a fan....thought it would be wat tougher then it turned out and Green Bays coaches seemed to make zero adjustments at the half along with letting TO dictate what coverage was gonna be used, Packers surely will be there at the end and this Rodgers kid regardless of tonights otcome will prove his worth over time. BOL and will look forward to your next offerings:toast: :mj06:
