In my opinion Downey should get a lot more treatment and not incarceration - it just simply will not do him any good, nor us, to put him in jail. The anti-drug warriors want his dealer, the DA wants to look good on TV for his next election and Downey wants to get high and forget all of them. Who's the winner in this scenario? Or conversely, who's the loser? Or pragmatically, what good has any of this done for society?

Downey will not live much longer the way he's going anyway. I doubt if he really cares at this point.

Question - Anyone here in MadJack's lost more money than they can afford? Should that be a crime against your family? Should you be incarcerated? If you have lost more than you can afford, why do you continue to play? Do you feel happy about that situation?

It's the same chit folks.

Rehab is not a cure. Lot's of people really don't understand that. Rehab treatment gives you some tools, what you do with em depends on the individual. Many just go through the motions to please others and not for themselves. You got to get right with yourself and the man above. As far as the different punishments dished out to different people, it is as baffling as the disease it self. Nothing makes any sense, the whole problem/ and problem solving is confusing and baffling. There will be many of those that don't make it, more than you can imagine. There will be those that can go through rehabs 20 times and won't make it, they will die in time. Downey and Strawberry could be candidates for such an outcome. I wish each of them the best, time will tell all. Their ain't no cure or quick fix.
