how did my computer know to change the time?
believe Windows has DST change in the program.
I seem to remember you remarking about the automatic change last year also.

DST is the most worthless thing in the world. Complete waste of time and resources. I wonder how many people are paid by tax dollars to "think tank" about DST????
Also, I think time zones are fecking stupid, too.
Try scheduling a conference call with people from 5 different time zones. There is NO WAY everyone will get that shit straight.
Let's all just talk about shit on GMT 0, for crying out loud!
how did my computer know to change the time?
It was good for us... our customer had to spend almost $1m to test all of our systems. Not as profitable as Y2k, but it still cost billions, just to move it up and push it back 3 weeks. Good thing we are saving on enery because of it.... oh wait, statistics last year showed the difference was minimal, if any :mj07:
Why didn't my computer change the time?
Many computer-based systems can shift their clocks automatically when DST starts and finishes, based on their time zone settings. Two implementations in wide use today are zoneinfo and Microsoft Windows. Some applications standardize on UTC to avoid problems with clock shifts and time zone differences.[93]
WINDOWS XP has done it for me for years.
My desktop did not change the time, but my laptop did.....?? Windows XP in both.
that's because NOBODY in Nashville, including computers, knows what time it is down there :mj07:Mine did EXACTLY the same thing:shrug:
:scared
