What a great job by the Discovery Channel. They did an excellent job with the whole "Phil death" thing. With so much crap on TV it is good to see a show done professionally.

Also, it was good to see that Jake went to rehab and his dad knew he was going to get help.

Oh and could you imagine the crew of the Kodiak on Sig's boat:scared

Deadliest Catch: Captain Phil Tribute

Skipper Phil Harris died relatively young, but he packed a thousand life times of work, play and excess into his fifty-three years on earth. With never before seen footage and interviews, we take an in depth look at America's favorite fisherman.

Episode 15

Well I learned one thing......kickserv is "not a man". When the captain says "do the job or you are not a man". I learned that I am "not a man"....dammit:142smilie

Oh well. I could not lift 80 pounds of fish over and over and over again in sub zero temps. Good thing GSP still thinks I am a man....phew:tongue

I know I have said this before....but how the fuck does the "camera boat" keep the camera so level? You saw the shot of the Northwestern in horrible seas getting thrown around. You have a boat a mile away taking shots. Is the camera boat some-sort of battleship? How does it stay so level. You see one boat flipping from side-to-side, you'd assume the "camera boat" would be doing the same thing?

Perplexing:shrug:

Nice tributes to Phil by the captains....well done:cool:

Thought the same thing. Jake Harris is a punk and unless he does a complete 180 he won't amount to anything. However, I do like Josh and think that he has the brains and balls to fill his dad's shoes someday.

Some of that stuff was mighty tough to watch last night without shedding a tear, especially when Jake Anderson broke down when passing by the C.M.

Phil will be greatly missed by all. He was one hell of a guy.

Season Finale

Well..........Season 7 should be very different:

1) Phil died

2) Edgar may be gone

3) Jake and all his drug problems...will he be back?

4) Other Jake and his family, will he be back?

5) Hillstrands can't decide if they want to quit or not.

Might have some "new boats" to follow in Season 7:shrug:

Great show......I'll miss it, can't wait for Season 7:SIB

I don't know about the others, but I would bet anything Edgar will be back. Even before Sig said "he's been complaining like this for the last 5 or 6 years," I just got the impression he was bitching more than actually thinking about quitting. I find his complaining ironic because he's the one who always says he can't stand whiners. He's coming off as pretty hypocritical now, IMO. Not only that, but even if he wanted to quit his fishing job, what else would he do? Sell cars? It sounds like the only job he's ever had was being a crab fisherman so his options might be limited, especially in this economy.

As for Jake's dad, that couldn't have ended well. Darrington is out in the middle of fucking nowhere. If you find an abandoned car in Darrington, the owner of that car is going to be dead. My only question is did he off himself or was there actually foul play involved?

Oh and one last thing... I remember an episode where Jake said he makes like 3 times more than his dad. Now that I see his dad actually had a "professional" job (a counselor at a high school), that's just sad. I know Jake probably does well for himself, but there's no way a longtime counselor should be making 1/3 of what Jake makes. This is another shining example of why people avoid careers in education -- the pay is awful.
