well...nothing was happening......so.in typical democrat fashion, they broke for lunch.....

and almost THREE HOURS later, they still haven`t returned...

we`ve since learned that they went behind closed doors(shocker)...out of the range of the constituents themselves to try and cut some sleazy backroom deal....

thats democracy at work....democrat style...

the people should be outraged....

They're f*cking idiots (democratic party) and if this somehow goes to a brokered convention, they might as well disband the party.

That said, they're(DNC) in a weird spot because they need to placate Floridas and Michigans voters, because of the importance of the states in the general election, but seating their delegates will only embolden Hillary to continue on.

It's a catch-22, but the DNC did it to themselves by demanding certain timeframes that states can have their primaries and you can bet Hillary won't let them out of this without a huge fight.

an aside- Rachel Maddow is annoying and her voice and general butchness offend my senses.

Nora O'Donnell is hot and seems like a sweet person.

Cantessa Brewer is hot and seems like a prissy bitch.

Does that cover the more prominent MSNBC/NBC females?

i feel very badly for these voters(even if they are democrats...;) )..

there should be some way to resolve this issue that penalizes the harold deans and the party heads.....

the floridians and those in michigan are nothing more than pawns in the games that these "honchos" play.....and anybody that thinks that floridas`and michigan`s voters actually have a say in this kabuki dance,is a fool...

they want to end all this confusion?....you want an even playing field without all the b.s......now and forever?....

do it over...and next time, hold every primary at the same damned time.. ....don`t give any state an advantage...

but thats like asking them to simplify the tax code...it`s to easy...not enough palms get greased...

the whole fricking process sucks...it`s corrupt...

I agree with most of that except the first part about feeling bad for the voters.

I mean, Obama wasn't even on the Michigan ballot. Who the f*ck is going to take a couple hours and go out of their way to vote on a ballot that reads (Hillary or other- and Hillary still only got like 60%-lol)?

Florida is more complicated somewhat, but Howard Dean and his ridiculous rules(as much as Mich/Fla delegates being seated, the bigger confusion was the proportional represention nationwide) caused this. They (and of course any of the other earlier Dem candidates were forbidden to campaign down here at all). None, nothing. Hillary came down here on primary night for a party, but she didn't campaign.

Just a weird deal and I still just shake my head at our options.

who told obama to pull his name off the michigan ballot?.....the dem committee didn`t....they didn`t tell anybody to take their name off....

he figured he was gonna lose michigan so,i`ll pull my name off just in case something just like what`s happening happens....

it`s on him...or,at least it should be....

If only this could happen. You have one party that lies, cheats, steals and cons the easily con and then you have the other party in which you have to tap them on the shoulder and point out to them that the other party is lying, cheating, stealing, and conning the easily conned. The five minutes i saw was pathetic at best. It actually look like the Rodger Clemens fiasco. You knew who was gonna say what. I don't even know what the results were and i don't even care. The five minutes i watch Fox filled me in on Weasels version as now his new sympathy for Hillary has spilled over to the Michigan and Florida voters:mj07: :mj07:

Right, nobody told Obama to pull his name off the ballot, but he was told that it's useless because of the 'rules.'

I highly doubt he pulled his name because of some big scheme and forethought that this crap could happen.

He had a better shot of winning Michigan than Florida, if things happened normally like in the other 48 states. Oh, and Guam and Puerto Rico. So why just pull his name in Michigan?

I have no idea why he pulled his name, but I have a hard time believing it was some sort of strategy.

here is my question about this.

Why did Mich and Fla have their primarys early when they knew their would be consequences ?

There has to be a compelling reason they would do this . I havnt heard the reason.

I don't know either. I guess that the Michigan and Florida state democratic party leaders didn't think that the lunatic Howard Dean would follow through on his threat.

well don't worry about it alienating the voters of these 2 states because based on smurphy's scientific poll of 1 person....it won't..

I watched it until the Committee went to lunch and they were showing the fawking table where they would sit when they returned.

Why did Michigan and Florida change their primary elections in the first place?

Largely to increase their influence on the nomination process. But you need to remember that in the case of Florida, it was the Republican-dominated legislature which voted to do this, partly to make mischief for the Democrats.

They were being defiant of the Democratic party . They wanted to have a better say in the elections so they screwed themselves off.

Because like typical politicians they do whatever they want and say screw you to the voters. They thought they would break party rules by putting their primaries too early and thought the DNC would give-in and let their elections stand, but they soon realized they messed up. This is how politics works. They do what they want, despite the rules and despite the voters. Voters say, "We don't want to pay more taxes." Politicians say, "We need more taxes." Voters say, "We don't want amnesty and we want our borders secured." Politicians say, "We need a pathway to citizenship(amnesty)."

It was widely believed that Hillary would win the democrat primary and have it already wrapped up by the end of Feb. In a power move by the Florida commision to be more relevant in the election FL and MI moved up thier primary dates. Its all about prestige in helping choose the candidate.

Of corse something happed ...Obama began to win. Now FL and MI want to be relevant again so they are trying to hold new primaries
Block User

They wanted to have a greater influence on the selection of the nominee, (or more correctly the dropouts) like Iowa and New Hampshire do year after year.

The Republicans were and are trying to cheat he vote again but they can't get away with it a third time.

Previously the primaries were near the end of the process. Traditionally Iowa and NH were the early indicators. To make FL and MI as the early indicators the dates were changed by REPUBLICANS. Some believe to purposely hurt the democratic primaries. But the DNC are the ones who issued the rule that was illegal and caused the real problem it wasn't an issue for republicans.

Many of the other states feel Iowa and New Hampshire states may not be that representative to be early indicators. Florida, a big state naturally felt it should try its hand. But so many of the voters in these two states should not be deprived their say in the nomination. They should be given a Honorable way in the matter.

I found these separate answers on a blog.

I am trying to pick out which explanation makes the most sense.
