. . . and AJ Hawk are dating?

Nice job by ABC to focus on that instead of Weis having no plan to stop a scrambling QB. "We won't be outschemed as long as I'm the coach of Notre Dame" :jerkit:

Go Irish!!! Let's get to recruiting season!!!

had a very big ohio state (-5) ticket and i cant get weis' decision to go for it on 4th/2 out of my head. that was an enormous momentum swing.

how arrogant is weis to not only go for it, but motion the back out and empty the backfield? did he think he was playing against navy or stanford's defense? if you want to make a "statement" and run the football, i can maybe see it. but imo, that's a totally different game if notre dame goes up 10-7 there.

Just typical for ND. They always seem to be part of the background for soemone ELSE's coming out party. See: carson palmer, reggie bush, mike williams, and now these buckeyes Ginn and Smith.

The most important thing will be recruiting. An NFL style coach with NFL connects will attract NFL type recruits. Hopefully.

Also, hats off to ND this season. They FAR EXCEEDED EVERYONE'S EXPECTATIONS and NOBODY can deny that. Win or lose today, that program made 2 years worth of progress in one season while OSU lost 2 games in a year they were supposed to contend for a title.

didn't mind the 4th down call, but it should have been something quick with a pick and if they get called for the illegal screen, then kick the FG. I don't think that 10-7 changes the game at all.

that game me feel a lot better about my Texas bet, another team with all offense and no defense...Texas is more balanced and they are not going to be able to stop Young

So. Cal
the thing i dont get is the following:

the second half game plan by nd is exactly what i thought they would come out and do....short drops, quick hitters, slants, etc.....then it might open up the down field 5-7 step drop passes

instead

they came out and had great success on the first drive and stayed with that type of game plan and passes for the rest of the 1st half.....and were fairly ineffective

i agree that the non fg was a major momentum changer in the 1q......take the points after the turnoever.....if that were ohio state and their defense, maybe i would go for it down there...but with nd defense, take the lead.

nice logic......do you really think that pete carrol and sc were watching this game today and said "oh no, we're in trouble now because ohio state beat nd"

conversely do you think mack brown and texas now feel like the will win BECAUSE osu beat nd

sc is gonna pound texas.....sc can play wide open, they can play ball control, and guess what, they can play defense.........

money line sc
sc -7
and
sc -21 at plus odds

haha, yea i threw 75 on ND -3 that paid +220. I didnt really expect them to cover the spread, but i won 2 halftime bets earlier and got tempted.

I'm serious about the program this year though. From obscurity to the BCS in one season is not bad. That team and its fans have nothing to be ashamed of. Nobody even expected ND to be in a bowl game this season, so for certain people to be gloating over an OSU win is obscene. A preseason unranked team against a "national title contender/pretender"?? Lucky the score was THAT close IMO

The quick strikes altered ND's gameplan I believe. I dont know why though, its not like that defense isnt used to having quick strikes against them all year.

Its like the ND/USC game. Everyone talked about the goalline play and the fumble and the QB sneak. Everyone forgets the 4th and 9 65 yard pass that allowed USC to have a chance to win.
