1st rd results 1-1-1
Edwards -117 over Cook @ 5dimes push
Tanaka -118 over Lewis @ 5dimes win by 11
Furyk -105 over Duval @ Cascade loss by 1

Lucky to get out of yesterday as Murph threw in little surprise of lift-clean-and place at Palms which I rated to play the toughest.
No excuse for Furyk who played same course (palm) as Duval and despite having ball in hand(79% fairways hit) to Duvals 57% could not even bust daily scoring ave of 69 and change.

2nd rd plays (LC&P again @ Palms)
Dimarco +105 over Toms @ 5Dimes
Dimarco will have LC&P,Toms won't. Also Toms paired with Tiger, plus he fell yesterday and scraped leg and took chunk out of hand.

Appleby +105 over Furyk @ 5dimes
Pissed at Furyk lol. Appleby paired with his bud Allenby, plus playing well, plus sleeping in own bed. 1st thing I looked for this morning was to hedge Sluman/Appleby 72 hole match at Oly but they don't have lines up yet. Despite good rd by Sluman yesterday I fear I am on wrong side of that one.

McCarron -120(and 1/2 stroke) over Couples @ Wsex
This match is -150 @ 365 and I deem no different than ties lose.
Couples only hit about 4 balls warming up yesterday and back stiffened and considered wd at that time. I like this match anyway.

Edwards -115 over Cook @ 5Dimes
They pushed match yesterday despite Cook getting to LCP.Today Edwards has that advantage.

Edwards -110 over Brooks @ SIA (ties lose)
Significant rating mismatch.

Mid-point update:

Huston/Beem LOST by 5
Kelly/Beem Leads by 1
Mediate/Beem LOST by 2
Mayfair/Coceres WON by 6
Langer/Day WON by 6
Love/Sluman Trails by 5
Verplank/McCarron Leads by 4
Perry/Triplett Trails by 2

Toms 45th
Love 63rd
DiMarco 1st

Good week to oppose Beem - he languishes in 45th position - just not with the above selections! Huston and Mediate both missed the cut. Not the top-20 finish I had expected from both of them. Could yet break even on the matchups, but will be unimportant if DiMarco can hang on to the lead. This will be the sixth time that he has the lead after 36 holes on the PGA Tour and he has yet to win from this position. Should be a long weekend!

at the cut: 2nd rd 2-2-1 72 holes 3-1
2nd rd
Dimarco +105/Toms win by 5
Appleby +105/Furyk loss by 1
McCarron -120/Couples loss by 1
Edwards -115/Cook win by 1
Edwards -110/Brooks Push

72 holes
Furyk -115/Duval win
Howell +110/Duval win
Love -110/Duval win
Mediate -110/Beem loss
pending
Choi -110/Beem 3up
Sluman -110/Appleby 1down
Kelly +105/Perry all square

Outrights Flesch-Huston-Mediate all cut
Dimarco 1st-Sluman 10th

This is one of 1st tourneys in a while where the books exposed weak lines by matching players on diferent courses and failing to adjust for LC&P 2nd day where Palms played almost 2 strokes easier. To come out of 1st 2 rds with a split is disheartning.
Of 8 matches no opponent beat the selection over 2 days.
Three wins by 17 strokes 3 losses by 1 each.
2nd day was coupe de grace
Mccarron can't bust par to lose to crippled Couples by 1
Furyk Shoots 2 under with ball in hand then shoots 8 under to beat Appleby by 1
Edwards who hasn't had bogey whole tourney, throws one in on last hole to push with Brooks. Murphy at his finest!

3rd round Don't even want to look!

wonder if DiMarco can keep up putting, saw it somewhere else, but he has only taken 44 putts, with PGIR of 1.33...fewest putts in top 10 here last year was T3 (Smith) with 106, plenty of 110+ though...does that mean he is going to take 31-32 putts for 3/4th rounds...better not!

4th rd @ Cascade
Beem +100 over Choi
Strickly a hegde on 72 hole match of Choi over Beem.

Guarantees at least split on that match and matches for week, and adds 2 win/push possibilities to Choi/Beem match.

Final update:

Matchups: 4-4-0; -4.17 units

Kelly/Beem LOST by 2
Love/Sluman WON by 6
Verplank/McCarron WON by 5
Perry/Triplett LOST by 6

Outrights: 1-2; +3.75 units

Toms 6th
Love 17th
DiMarco 2nd

One that got away. It was ironic that DiMarco holed a monster putt on the last hole as he had missed opportunity after opportunity until then. He missed out by a shot from a very impressive Bob Burns. Toms almost missed out by a shot. He dropped a shot on the last hole to fall out of a top-4 payout. Will continue to oppose Beem who finished 47th, just need to find some selections who can finish in the top-50!

PGA Tour ytd
Matchups: 92-91; -30.10 units
Outrights: 19-87; +3.07 units

All Tours ytd
Matchups: 205-179; -3.08 units
Outrights: 74-273; +165.30 units

I was thinking about ya Stan when Toms dropped the shot.It was sickening after the way he played. I watched Hoch and Edwards spit the bit likewise.

Sickening to have good grasp on courses and weather for a change, catch books with sack exposed and come out it as such.
Excluding the hegde all losses in rds were by one stroke and was with either the player shooting his worst rd of tourney or opponent his best or in Furyk/Duval case both.

In outrights Mediate-Flesch-Huston had 5 top 5's between them in last 4 years here and all miss cut.
Last time I whined I had good breaks the next week:D
