Just saw District 9 tonight.

It was MUCH better than I expected. The acting in it is superb, imo!

The lead actor is Murdoch in the upcoming A-Team movie as well. :)

You have to dig sci-fi at least a little to appreciate this movie, but I thought it was very well done. Especially with a cast of mostly virtual nobodies.

I really like horror flicks, but in my old age I have no patience for straight gore films.

Is this one of those?

no...not from what i`m reading on imdb.....

"Its an anthology film with a horror comic vibe, telling four interlocking tales all linked by the thesis that one should never mess with Halloween, else Halloween will mess with you. I won't go into any of the plotting ins and outs because it should be kept a surprise but its fine stuff, melding effective creeps, a decent helping of dark humour, some fun bloodshed, grisly at times but used with imagination and restraint, never gratuitous and a neat mean streak.".....

hope it`s as good as many seem to think it is...

Rob Zombie's Halloween was amazing.

I'm waiting on the release of the New Nightmare on Elm Street in March...

On my 8th birthday my mom and dad let me go see Nightmare on Elm Street in the movies. I still remember sitting in Shoney's super excited about going to see it. (The things you remember) I could see Cinema City 8 out the window of our booth in Shoney's and the idea of my parents taking me to see a horror flick meant I was growing up... I was 8, next I'd be drinking coffee, chasing women and driving...

Needless to say, my dad carried me out of the movies terrified, and I slept at the foot of my parents bed for 6 weeks in a sleeping bag every night...

I watched it a couple years ago and it was a bad film.

To have the eyes of an 8 year where everything is real...

reprobate that i am,iactually i liked those 2 myself..zombie`s wife,cheri moon,is a little minkie...:brows:...

the scene in which moon makes old priscilla barnes strip?...you guys remember her from "3`s company"?...she has to be around 60.....and she`s still pretty hot...

this horror crap started when i was still filling my dipe-dipes in the 60`s with the hammer films... i`ve followed them around like a bad smell ever since...

Zombie is a good example of gore gone bad most of the time, yes?

I was not a big fan of Zombie's Halloween and really didn't like the 2nd one. The 2nd one was just a bunch of gore with a crazy plot. I am a little biased because I liked the original Halloween (John Carpenter) a lot and was just shocked at what Zombie did to it.

Trick 'R' Treat is entertaining. It isn't really scary, it shows what happens when people don't follow the "traditions" of Halloween. There is not a lot of gore in it.

I am looking forward to the New Nightmare as well.

i always hated the "nightmare on elm st" series....all that "dream sequence" b.s. ruins it....imo

it becomes redundant and a cheap way to get in and out of plot issues... you don`t really need a plot...the person just wakes up...and there goes a whole sequence in the movie rendered null and void...no explanation necessary...

the writers don`t have to think too hard...

Bro, I just burned a great quality copy of Trick 'R Treat and you can have it, just give me the word.

:toast:

I turned it off half way though.
