I love a good psych thriller (slasher films are boring) and have seen my share, be it In Cold Blood or Repulsion or The Exorcist or even Hostel or The Silence of the Lambs, which some might call "disturbing."
I'm looking for some new experiences, in this regard, so maybe somebody can mention a decent flic that I've missed, so far. The supernatural stuff doesn't really do it for me--say, Satan coming to Earth and bringing whatever chaos...I prefer more of the real-world crime stuff and what-have-you (I can put up with Stephen King but even there he works best in something like Misery, which doesn't need the major suspension of disbelief).
On those notes, I can mention that I saw a pretty brutal film a couple of days back--brutal in the sense of being "distrubing." I was looking for Wes Craven's first flic, the 1972 version of The Last House on the Left, but discovered that there was a 2009 remake so I watched that instead. Pretty raunchy...not too bad but rather unsettling, at times. Worth seeing, certainly, if you like twisted shit as I often do. Haven't seen the original, yet, but scored it just the same.
Will leave it at that.
Disturb me, if you will.
