My brother in law just returned from his 2nd mission in Iraq. I talk to him all the time and he gives me first hand updates. I trust him more than anyone in Madjacks. He says the liberal media back home has twisted this war so far out of reality that it makes him sick. He said when he's over there in Iraq, we are winning. Then you come home and open the newspaper and we are losing. Gee I wonder why?

No offense to your brother in law, and i'm sure it seems to him like we're winning whatever small slice of Iraq he occupies, but he's not really in any better position to evaluate the entirety of this occupation or the likelyhood of events after we leave than anybody else.

There is no way he can prove this. I am not above saying that just because I question things the President says that makes them untrue. But for the reasons I mentioned - times he has been PROVEN wrong (at best) or lying (at worst), then I hardly think unreferenced, unquoted statements to be at least questionable.

I'm not even saying there are not quotes from commanders on the ground that say things are going well in Iraq. "Well" is a deep subject. I would anticipate most information coming from Bush to be positive spin on what is happening there. I'm not saying we are losing the war there. I think that is foolish. We sure as hell better not be, with all we've put into that country.

Why, Charles, do I have to prove unverifiable, unreferenced quotes to be non-facutal? How can you prove a non-thing?

I'll go a step further, playing into your theory. Has everything George Bush has told is in speeches been true? And if not, then how can you prove these unverifiable statements to be true?

He just tells me what he sees after spending 2 years in Baghdad. Funny, I had no idea that you talked to him as well. If you don't trust our troops then maybe you should donate some cash to the DNC. I guess you know more than the troops do, afterall, you watch a lot of TV I'm sure.

I guess this contradicts your theory that we went there for Halliburton right? lol Why won't you tell me who that guy is? Why am I paying $3/gal for gas? Why did Clinton say regime change was needed in Iraq? Why did Hillary say Saddam was pursuing Nukes? Why did John Kerry say that Saddam had WMD's?

This is more important than gas. This is about stomping out terrorism. Hillary said Saddam was harboring Al Qaida members. That's why we invaded. Keep your head in the sand all you want. You are a liberal...doesn't shock me.
