That's the only chance they have, cheap shot Warner? I hope that is not what your resting your hopes on. Although I'm sure Hugh Douglass would be up for that.

No respect, just what the EAGLES like. Bring on the Rams, they will be beat by the EAGLES. The Packers gave the game away, the EAGLES don't play this way and will take care of the ball.

Mostly everyone thought the Bears were a much better Offensive and Defensive team and the EAGLES handed them their ASSES. Now they complain about cheap hits! Hugh Douglas will slam Warner too the ground and reaggrivate his Rib adn Back problems.

Give me the money line like last weekend. The point are a bonus!

An all PA Superbowl!!

Good luck!

Not referring to you as "they"..

St. Louis has trouble matching up against strong agressive defenses: (see game summaries)

Philadelphia St. Louis
5 sacks 4 sacks
2 Int's 1 Int
2 fumbles 4 fumbles

NY Giants St. Louis
6 sacks 3 sacks
1 Int 1 Int
1 fumble 3 fumbles

Tampa Bay St. Louis
3 sacks 3 sacks
1 Int 2 Int's
3 fumbles 4 fumbles

The Eagles have the "Best" defensive coordinator in football and he will devise a play to shut down the "greatest show on earth" as the Eagles shut down the "Monsters of the Midway".

I've lived in Philly for 36 years and have never seen an Eagles team so focused and ready to rise to the task.

What ever you decide, GOOD LUCK!

Tom

They shut down a horrible Chicago offense, and won 2 out of the three games you just listed. Good Luck to you as well!

P.S The Ram defense is not bad either

I am not a Eagles or Rams fan and here is my one thought on the line.

How do you give a team that did not allow more than 21 points all year??? Add in the X factor in Dnabb and I believe we will have a tight one. I am not saying the Eagles will win, but their blitzing D will make things interesting. I just hope that if the Eagles do lose, they take out Warner to make it easier for my boys.
Good luck to you in whatever side you decide.

PS. Pearl, what do you think about my thoughts. Wink, Wink!!!!!

WHY ST. LOUIS WINS SO MUCH

WHY ST. LOUIS WINS SO MUCH

i am not a coach, but i have seen enough professional sports to know that most if not all teams tend to be close to each other in how they prepare. basically, there are no secrets. film is too extensive and the athletes themselves are too good. it usually comes down to one team having a certain something that gives them an edge over the opposition. granted, there are exceptions. last year, tampa successfully shut down the rams for one game, but it was not something they could do if they played ten times.

the difference with the rams is marshall faulk catching the ball and kurt warner's quick delivery to him. the rams make you defend issac bruce and tory holt long, ricky prohle/az hakeem out of the slot and ernie conwell off the line. in other words they make you play cover two on the wideouts and then give you mismatches with your linebackers on faulk. he is then so good that he turns quick strikes into big gainers.

i can think oif two situations where matchups present problems. the old 49'ers with montana/young to rice on a quick slant and any team that has ran the true option (if you can't stopit in the first play, you ain't gonna stop it all day).

I believe the Eagles can match the Rams speed on offense with thier quicker defense. Even though the Eagles Brass doesn't think so, Trotter is equal to Lewis and Urlacher (in my opinion). Then you have the other quick ball hawking linebackers in Emmons, Caldwell and Burgess.

Plus, probably the best secondary in the NFL in Dawkins, Taylor, Vincent, Moore, Cook. I don't think Al Harris can match up as well as the others but they are big and quick and never get pushed around.

I know the Rams have a good defense, but the better defensive team usually wins games this time of year. Plus, I didn't think the Rams showed anything special against a weaker Packer defense.

I think the Eagles have edges in enuf areas to compete in this gm:

* Rams commit too many penalties;
* Eagles have better overall defense;
* Rams' offense takes more chances than Phi;
* Eagles don't give up many rush TDs;
* Rams have poor kick/punt coverage (Rossum had a TD negated by dumb penalty today);
* Rams have the pass defense/corners to counter the Rams as much as possible.

I'm gonna take the Eagles at the best # I see (hopefully 13+). Played the +500 ML flyer, too.
