So. Cal
and just how does the President of the USA reach into your pocket and take your money?

If you have a job, take a look at your paycheck stubb sometime....esp in a state like california.

Its ridiculous how much is taken out (close to 50% if you're in sales) and all the line items listed in the taxes section of my stubb is a joke.

So yes; a president and his willing accomplices in the house and state level ABSOLUTELY reach into my pocket....oh, and dont forget about all the other daily taxes you pay.

So, you pay taxes. What do you get?

Social Security, lifetime when you retire.
Medicare, lifetime when you turn 65 or earlier.
Disability payments, possibly lifetime if you are injured.
The strongest military in the world.
Free schools for your children.
Free roads to drive on.
Free police and fire department.
Democratic government.
National parks and monuments.
Safe water to drink.
Safe air to breathe.
Safe food to eat.
Safe medications.
Safe airplanes.
Unemployment payments if you become unemployed.
Etc, etc, etc

But, Mister Whiner, if you don't want to pay for those things, there are places you can work and pay lower taxes.

Macedonia has the lowest taxes of any country, followed by Qatar...but they won't let you in. Next lowest is Kuwait, but they don't want you either. The lowest taxed country that might take you is Lesotho.

So, pack your bags for Lesotho. And take a dozen armed guards with you...no, better make that three dozen.

Don't worry, we won't miss you.

Explain this. How exactly will you be better off financially? He has yet to propose any financial plan. He has not said he'd do anything other than raise taxes, which is obviously necessary considering all the money he's proposed spending on bigotry.

Paycheck goes way down, dividends, capital gains taxes go up astronomically
Oh, so if Trump is elected all that changes how? What EXACTLY has he proposed that will be automatically passed without the approval of Congress the day he gets elected. When exactly did he state that this is what he would do. Also please refer me to the exact moment your paycheck went down and all that other shit happened that president Obama's financial plan instituted without approval of the Republican congress.

I'll wait here for you to copy and paste that legislation that only the democratic president did.

I know you can't or won't and I know you have it better today than you did on this day 8 years ago when a Republican president once again quadrupled the deficit and once again put us in the throes of a deep recession that president Obama's stimulus package dug us out of.

The thing is Scott, simply saying something aloud doesn't make it real or true. Restating a falsehood over and over destroys any credibility you may have built up and speaks directly to your self respect.

So instead of ignoring this or making a completely unrelated and also false claim, why don't you try just being honest and forthright. Trump will not make a damn thing better because he isn't going to be elected. You and I already know that, I just prefer not to lie to myself and others about it.

My taxes go toward clean air and safe airplanes?

Most if that list is crap and only a few things on it are done well or effectively by the govt.......but lets justs keep putting people in office who will support raising taxes.

What scares me most isnt hillary or trump but that plenty people in this country actually supported a guy like sanders who's effective tax rates would have to double to push thru his programs.......so yes; electing certain individuals and their policies can and DOES affect your pocket book.

Unless, of course, he carried through with his fundamental campaign ideals and promises which were to end corporate welfare and ensure that banks and corporations paid the taxes that they owed on a yearly basis. All that money alone could conceivably fund said programs and so many more without changing individual taxation whatsoever. In theory.

If individuals are so adamant about everyone else "paying their fair share," then why not banks and corporations as well?

Peace! :)

None of it is "crap". It's simple FACT as to where some of your tax money goes.

Yes indeed. Your taxes pay for the EPA (clean air regs and enforcement) and the FAA (aircraft certification, pilot testing and licensing, accident investigation, air traffic control, passenger screening, air marshals).

Maybe you wouldn't be such a whiner if you actually knew something about what your taxes pay for.

If you want to pay lower taxes, then use fewer tax paid services. Send your kids to private school, drive only on toll roads, disavow police and fire protection, drink water from roof runoff, use an outhouse, support your elderly parents and grandparents out of your pocket, etc, etc.

Or move to some shithole country where you can fend for yourself.

I am not worried about the day they are elected. Its two years from now when capital gains tax goes to 40 percent, dividends tax goes to 40 percent, more is taken out of my paycheck to pay for more people on welfare. The Supreme Court going to the left, the list goes on an on why I prefer Trump to Clinton. I don't really like Trump, but he is the lesser of the evils in my opinion.

You're worried that your taxes are going to be used to pay welfare benefits?

Why don't you FUCKING morons ever know ANYTHING? Like where your tax money is spent.

Here, dumbass, can you manage a simple pie chart? See that little dark purple 2% slice? Welfare is a tiny part of that, less than 1% of all Federal spending.

If you are really that worried about keeping more of your money, then perhaps you should have supported Sanders and helped fight corporate greed. It probably would have resulted in lower individual taxes.

Also, nice chart Duff.

Peace! :)

Hell will freeze over before I support a candidate that is a communist

zero tax on cap gains and dividends would be my type candidate, 10 percent on income across the board with a balanced budget, file my taxes on a postcard

Are you selling your house? What capital gains do you foresee having to pay taxes on.

You see hedge this is where I don't believe you. I don't believe that any of that bullshit is important to you because I don't believe you're going to have any capital gain to report or any of that shit. If you do, good for you, there still won't be any meaningful change to it regardless of who gets elected.
What I do believe is that you don't have any idea what would happen if Trump was elected or how anything would change because you don't know. Historically you have been wrong more than right at every turn when it comes to politics. You're an ideologue that prefers to be led. You'll parrot the party line no matter what, no matter the consequence. I don't think you think anything at all through when it comes to any of this, which is why you are so readily dismissed by everyone here.
At present there is no republican party, there is only anti- liberal. You have no leadership, no policy, no programs, nothing at all that would indicate to any sensible person that a conservative led government could provide for all the citizens of this county. You don't care about that though, and that is the problem. This country was never made great by hateful, selfish fanatics. It wasn't made great by capitalism or Ronald Reagan, quite the opposite, but again, you don't care about anyone else only yourself. You have young children but couldn't care less about education or the future of our country, so you toe the party line in the hopes that maybe someday you'll get to step on a less fortunate neck. The problem is, you're dependent on a social system that the Democrats designed. You're dependent upon the infrastructure that underpaid minorities built, your dependent on those you'd like to see oppressed. It's people like you that don't understand that they are the lowest common denominator. It is you that we need to "take back the country from to make it great again". I'm sorry you can't see that, but you better start trying. You are the true minority now. I know you'd like to make blacks go back to Africa and be able to shoot a Muslim on site, that's your nature, you've been a racist bigot your entire life. I can accept that, it's not like I'm ignorant enough to think that they don't exist and you're not one of them. If you're voting for Trump you're a fucking bigot, no doubt about it. So just know, sooner than you think, your type will be systematically eliminated through attrition. They don't teach racism in schools, they teach tolerance and diversity. They don't teach failed economic systems such as trickle down economics or cutting taxes to the rich enhances the economy. It's to easy to see how wrong that is. Just know hedge, you're either going to have to accept that you're just another lost stooge that's remained ignorant at the government's behest ames try to change, or be eliminated through attrition.

Hope this helps,
FDC
